SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) - Red Bull says Winter X Games star Levi LaVallee has been injured in an accident while practicing for his New Year's Eve jump on the San Diego waterfront.
Red Bull isn't saying where the accident happened or if LaVallee's jump will go on. The company says LaVallee has been taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
LaVallee has been scheduled to attempt to break the world record of 301½ feet at Embarcadero Marina Park on San Diego Bay. He would have to clear a 300-foot water gap during the jump.
It would be the latest edition of the "Red Bull: New Year. No Limits." daredevil series.
Now that takes two big names out of the game. First Paul Thacker and now Levi. I haven't heard anything specific about his injuries but sure hope they both recover quickly.
