Always seemed to me Sue is in a little over her head. Not quite the skill set to be out there, alone, dealing with everything that comes up. She makes it work but its a suprise to me that she does. She didn't even look comfortable on the sled. Or the 753 bobcat either
I like last week Agnes Hailstone's crash, jamming her rifle through the gas tank. Bent the **** out of the steering, even the track wasn't turning when they towed it away.

At least Agnes can ride & her crash happened so quickly not a lot anyone could do with that one. She recovered quickly & continued with the hunt....her hubby just blew it off with I can fix that not the 1st or last crash in his/her lifetime. Yep .....Sue seems to be in over her head doing things she does not fully understand. Not sure but looks like her Kavik days may be coming to an end with a shoulder injury from the snomo crash.
I doubt many folks up in AK run studs, most run long tracks and deep paddles, so, they don't run studs

some times we all learn from mistakes, but living remote as she does, she's lucky there is a camera crew there
or mistakes like this could be her last
But in all honestly how many could live that way, as there is NO way to know how to do everything, so many times living like that MAKES you learn on the fly, and well,
some times learning hurts!!

that's for sure. Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid. Never got that show, why Naked? Not enough just to be out in the middle of jungle or rain forest or where ever? The sunburn affect does seem to get them I guess, Don't actually watch it very often though.

Been a few at least, maybe even 4 not real sure the exact count.
I think they have the folks NAKED< just to get people to watch, as I think they use it as a play on words to sucker silly people into watching
ME< I never watched a minute of the show, could care less
any one doing a show like that, has too many safety features into it, and who goes in remote places like that in today's world without some back ups as well??
and the average idiot that should be in a remote plane crash or?? that gets them into a bad spot, is at the mercy of what they can do, which I doubt is much based on survival skills MOST modern folks have!, way too dependent on modern times to save them
**** every time in my area they call for a snow storm, folks rush out to buy food like the world is ending!
Come on folks, its SNOW< and never lasts THAT long! in the past 20+ yrs in MY area, we have never had roads NOT opened up in 24 hrs?
yet people panic like mad here all the time when they say SNOW STORM< or ICE
due to modern people are SOFT and I again doubt many would survive in the wilds LONG, and **** the crap they sell and say on tv shows MIGHT even get them killed faster, as they see PEOPLE on TV doing things, and then THINK they CAN TOO!, as they seen this or that done, making them TV experts!

Im trying to figure out how the Hailstones have brand new Polaris sleds, yet there house is a run down shack?

It is a entertaining show, but it follows the reality show format to closely. they all ride brand new equipment, maybe the factories give them the sleds since it is a weekly 60 minute commercial for them. I like all the characters, but sue is too over the top about everything she does. love the naked and afraid line!
House /shack big step up from hunting tent. Nice white spray can paint job on new sleds..lol white on white in white....
I agree I think its about priorities, I mean if your 100 miles from any real shelter out on a trap line on a sled, I would want the newest sled I could have, HOME doesn't have to be pretty, just has to be warm and dry, ON a trap line a break down could kill you, hard to walk a 100 or even 25 miles, heck even 5 miles, in minus 40 degree temps
SO, I think they tend to use money for things that can save them over making home look pretty!
odds are they a decent amount of money a tr too, and I bet a ton of it is in a cash like income too!
making buying things a little easier
and I don't doubt that some sled makers are or are thinking about offering up some sleds for the free promotion of there products

OPn a different note, I prefer the show, THE LAST ALASKANS, better than the likes of
"Life Below Zero" and "Mountain Men", which to me are like , type shows
showing about life off the beaten path more or less!
Mountain men, to me is sad at times, that one guy wasting his time chasing MT lions, and then cry's when his dogs get hurt, **** the dam Mt lions are in the Mt's where does he want them to be??
you live where they do, don't expect them to up and move cause you moved there!
and don't cry when your dogs get hurt, when YOU put them in danger by having them chase a predator that has claws, and is doing whats natural to them
also think is mad shooting in the dark up in the air and what not's is rather not too smart to!
doesn't make honest ethical gun owns looks too good with a nut like him on TV, same can be said for many other so called TV folks
these shows are made more for TV than how any thing is really done IMO
and sadly, too many folks watch it and don't know it!they think its really how it works!

I'm sure they get a decent amount of cha ching for being on the show. Their shack seems to be adequate and about par for the area, I would think good dependable sleds are necessary with the style of subsistence living they do.
I think they bought one last year, and the second one this season. I understand why they painted them all white with a spray can, but if it were me i would have done it in advance, not as they are getting ready to leave and in the cold. Would have done a better job since they are new sleds.

The reality shows are not real. None of them. Not even close. They were developed to SELL to a gullible public. There are full blown production crews and massive editing to put these shows together. The lighting is always perfect. The sound is always perfect. There is very little that happens that isn't scripted and a lot of the people in the shows are in fact professional paid actors. The fact they are so popular is more proof that the general public is getting dumber every day.
