Does anyone know about this?

I live about 1/4 mile from it!

It is not the type of lighthouse you can live in. It sits at the end of a large breakwater pier.

The pier would remain in the federal government and the beach in the foreground is privately owned.

Sounds like an opportunity for the Keweenaw department of tourism or Pure Michigan to snatch it up. Maybe the City of Houghton or how about MI Tech? The Keweenaw Waterway Lighthouse Conservancy received funds in 2018 from the Michigan Lighthouse Assistance Program to help complete a condition assessment report, but the organization seems to have gone inactive shortly after this. In March 2022, the General Services Administration issued a call for letters of interest from entities willing to care for the lighthouse. Just curious what the assessment report concluded?
