I know this has been posted before on here and I think I know whats going on with it but here goes. The lights continue to flicker badly, sometimes their so dark you can barely see them on during daylight. Is this the voltage regulator, cdi box or something similar? Sled runs great other than that. Only has 1400 miles on it.

Regulator or most likely a bad ground. Follow the wire harness and see if you can find the ground to the frame or engine. You should get 12-14 volts at the H/L or Tailight, if the regulator is working. If there is less at 2500 rpm or more, the lighting coil could be at fault. But I would start with the ground.

my guess is the regulator. i bought a used one and now my lights don't flicker (I have a 99 xc 700) and the lights were flickering so i replaced it with a used one for $25

Do you use your high/low headlight switch alot? Polaris is notorious for the switch going bad. Sounds like the same way mine acted and it was the switch.

I have seen voltage regulators cause this and also shorted wires, my heated face shield was shorting out internally once, and it was causing all the lights to flicker and go out,
