Nice! Love those pavers! Don't even think about running some carbides across it.
Not my driveway to run across LOL. I used to own a landscape company in southeast Wisconsin but sold out to live up here.
I've tried to get jobs with other landscapers up here but some of them want my pics of old jobs to say it's their own work or I quess my 20 years experience is just not enough. So my wife and I have decided to start another business again and this is our first job not a bad start. Just from this job I have more work lined up already

what's the average growing season up there? 18-20 weeks?
I'm eyeing the same thing you did; Selling out and starting over up north.

What other type of work do you do? What's your rates?

I can do pretty anything retaining walls is probably my strongest point. As for rates I pretty much give people a cost for the whole job then a hourly rate then there's no surprises when people get the bill. Unless it's fixing somebody else's work or spring and fall clean ups .

Looks great! 1800 square feet is no small project, what kind of base did you use since it's a driveway? Do you still have some of your old equipment or did you do most of the work by hand?

I do mine different the most people I use crushed limestone as a base I don't like using sand. limestone sets up almost like concrete plus if it rain in the middle of your project your grade won't be messed up it don't matter if it's driveway or patio I still use limestone. As for my old equipment no don't have it anymore I had to buy all the hand tools over again and I hired somebody to come in and rip out the old driveways and do the rough grade. Which the guy did a really good job I'll use him again for sure.

Paver brick drives walks and patios add such a nice dimension to things. How does paver compare to say the cost of common concrete drives, and or stamped concrete work?
Using common bricks like this runs about $9-$10 a sq. ft. installed but when you 45 the pattern like that and put the bands through the middle of the driveway like I did it's a lot more cutting and work .$11- 12 sq. ft. that's just for these brick now when you get into different style of bricks then the price goes up more. Sorry don't know what concrete goes for these days but one thing about concete I don't care who does it. It will crack someday. Pavers if they do heave it's a pretty easy fix.

Looks good. The other half always talks about having a bricked driveway, then I remind her that we live on a farm and it wouldn't hold up. Thank goodness because otherwise we would be broke. haha
