the 4 bolts that attach the skid to the tunnel,do they need locktite?has anybody had them loosen while riding?reason being is i'm not real fond of locktite.figure i go through the sled twice a year anyway.
I loctite everything in the suspension, including those 4 bolts. i had a buddy who had one of the bolts pop out and he didn't even know it till i pointed it out to him, this is right before we were about to go riding with it. If not loctite, then anti-seize should do.
Something to think about when using loctite it softens at 185 deg F and can be best thing or worst thing u ever use just gotta know application or check bolts regularly!
Use cheap tap and die set to get old loctite off of threads on both bolt and shaft. Use BLUE loctite when assembling all components of suspension. Then let the whole thing sit overnight in a nice warm place before you ride it. Blue loctite will let you take it apart again unless you are really a girlie-man. This is what impact tools are for. Having anything come apart in your rear suspension is a very bad thing. Not only can you tear up the tunnel bolt holes in a hurry if anything else lets go you can also ruin a track. Instantly.
