Just curious - how should you leave regular corporate hotels when you leave? I try not to leave trash lying around, but obviously it's a different situation than renting a cabin from a family/individual.

I can't believe that I have just read on how others think they need to be treated and how they leave crap all over..wth.

Here is what I expect.

If I would like to check in early I'll call a minimum of a week out to ask if it is OK and in now way expect it.
I take care of the property like it is mine.
When I am leaving, I clean up, dishes done, bed sheets in a pile, sweep floor if needed. I like to leave it close to how I found it.
If I leave early, I don't ever think about asking for my money back.
If the person also owns a bar or the like, I will always stop in to spend some money there as well.

I just wish people would treat others and their property with much more respect. It is disheartening to here the lack there of.

Good luck Lenny.

yeah lenny u need a card reader I use them all the time and I know U are not suppose to charge people for using cards but I let them know up front this much for cash this much for cards and be careful about what cards u take some of the bonus type cards can charge big money .
as far as cabin rental goes
I have never left a cabin with out cleaning up after my self
bedding and towels in a pile
dishes done
vacuum quick paper towel cleaning of vinyl and tile
and we always bring a few contractor bags for trash.
I always thought that was what was expected in cabin rental
If I rented my place out and some one left it with dirty dishes U bet your ars I would be charging there card 50bucks a hr to wash them.
I always pre pay when I can ask what the earliest I can get in and if it is a issue to pull in in the midle of the night and plan accordingly.
that is what adults do Iowarider

ditto ditto ditto..its no different than the ahole that leaves oil bottles, cans whatever in the woods, or at the fishing bank..its just about some self respect..clean up after yourself...in cabin rentals..do the dishes..they r not ur nursemaids..clean up outside your door..guarantee by the end of the week we got crap all over..but upon checkout its clean up time..we pay end of week at the adventure but they know us..upfront nowadays is a must..and how somebody could assume an early check in is beyond comprehension without a prior phone call..change in your dam truck..unfknblvble

I leave corporate hotels 2 ways..if we have been there for awhile and its destroyed..i find out who is cleaning it and leave between a 10 and 20$ tip depending on how bad..if its just an overnight(like in florida last week) I leave a 5$ tip with a thank you note as its not that bad, but I always try and throw out what I can
