Am heading up north in mid May and looking for any clinic or store that has the two shot covid vaccine? Anybody know what shots are available to the public at this point in time?

Minocqua Walmart or Walgreens should cover it.

You will find mostly Moderna easier storage than Pfizer and probably plenty of J&J. I didn’t respond well to Moderna probably because I had Covid so I would go 1 and done with J&J as side effects are rare and prefer 1 and done.

I don't know why anyone would get J&J now since they are having blood clot problems. Why get a vaccine that is only 70% effective when you can get one that's 94% or 95% effective.

If you are coming to upper MI to get the vaccine I would check first if they will take out of state. There is so much vaccine around now you can pretty much have your choice, but for a long time it was only Moderna in the western U.P.

Keep in mind, whether it is a J&J (My Bad) Phizer or Moderna vacine, each are 2 doses that are given 1 month apart. Good though to Git er dun! -Mezz

Not completely correct.
J&J is only one shot. Don't need another shot.
Pfizer is 2 doses 3 weeks apart.
Moderna is 2 doses 4 weeks apart.
16 & 17 year olds only qualify for Pfizer.

Already talking about booster shot in 6 months for Covid so time will tell. J&J is aok side effect only women and very very rare. If you’re concerned now 3 to pick from and more brands of vaccines available soon.

You might of only needed the one shot of Moderna if you already had covid. Interesting study.

That’s exactly the problem they don’t know and are speculating value of second shot. Believe me my reaction to Moderna 1 was soooo bad I didn’t want to go thru with # 2 but my nature to tuff it out kicked in and I was prepared with drugs to manage Moderna # 2 plus I scheduled my time didn’t stay active like I did with number 1. Sure as heck exactly 12 hours after #2 side effects started lots of pain but this time uncontrollable shivering. I hit the sack took pain killers , bundled up with every blanket in the house stayed in bed for 2 days. For me better to prepare for severe side effects than try to carry on with normal activities the big mistake with number 1 and ended up on docs office after 7 days. Totally sucked and I wondered why I took the shot in the first place. Oh well I’m done vaccinated to the max and my life is back to normal waiting for everyone else to get back to normal.

So what happens in 6 months when it's time to get it again?

My wife and I both had the Moderna before we left Florida for Wisco, and had absolutely no problems other than the sore arm at the injection site. I actually got my second shot at 10am and we hit the road in the motorhome at noon. No problems on our three day journey back. Glad to get it done and over with. As far as a booster? Don’t care. I get a flu shot each year, so what’s the difference if I get a booster for covid. Be safe my friend!

Evaluate what I have to do see what alternatives are available then follow thru with a shot. Always have a flu shot with absolutely no side effects so I’ll do the Covid booster and prepare for 2 days down time. I obviously loaded with antibodies but no one knows how long that will last. I sure don’t want Covid again when I can be snowmobiling the season is too short.

WD I'd guess it will be a optional item along with the flu shot annual scheduling...

Yep a lot of unknowns with Covid but I do see it the same as you Covid and flu shot becomes a seasonal optional shot that I’ll get every year. If you get severely infected with the flu bug you’ll never want that again either. I had flu that progressed to pneumonia in my mid 20s and missed 2 weeks of work. I never want that again either and never got it again.
