She will lose the fight on this one. Either in the courts or in reelection, or both. Never in our time has a government forced people to get a vaccine. Plus, this is not something she can mandate, only her puppet at the health department can.

She has killed her political career with her handling of things. Might be a different story if MI held the best stats for persons not getting it and deaths, but nearly the opposite.

What will happen when she doesn’t get to her “magic” number that she most likely pulled out of thin air with no “science” based on this percentage?
Ya all just gonna stay shut down forever while the rest of the country gets on with our lives.

MWP I’ve stayed out of all your asinine posts on Covid but it’s embarrassing how brain washed people like u have become in a year.
U really think shut downs r working for u guys in Michigan and more shutdowns r the answer.
it’s an airborne global virus when are you people going to realize you can’t lock down away from it?
All you’ve done is prolong the inevitable
Look around the country pal. Texas and Florida say hold our beers.
My kids r in school whole year, no breakouts, no mass hysteria people like U pedal.
Baseball stadiums filling up, kids playing sports. I mean where’s the spike u all promised us??

Just go get your vaccine ( I did ) and STFU

If You Want Michigan to Open Up Better Get That Vaccine
Whitmer has laid down the rules for MI opening up and they all depend on folks getting the vaccine. If you don't want to wear that mask anymore you better get that covid shot. We need 70% to get vaccinated.

I've tried to stay at Arms Length on this subject. I don't judge and I won't argue the pros and cons, do what's right for you and your family and I'll do the same. I'm required to wear a mask at my work and it's required in all retail from where we live. I don't like it, but it's what's expected at this time. I had the vaccine shots back in March and April with no side effects.

Here's the thing, I didn't get the flu this year and I ALWAYS get the flu that knocks me down for a week to 10 days. Every year but this year. I've joked with others, "Every year I get a Flu Shot and every year I get the Flu." Insanity, right? But not this year. Was it the mask, the vaccine, the Flu Shot last fall, or just blind luck. I honestly don't know but I'm feeling good and hope to stay that way. Hope you can say the same!

I believe you can read so all you have to do is google it and thousands of articles will appear. In case you can't understand what you read, here it is in pictures.

I didn't ask about how to look things up online...I asked you, specifically, to explain how the so-called "vaccine" you're so enamored with works. Typically you won't or can't do that...I'm reasonably certain I made my point !!!

Didn't you look at the link I provided. What has to be spelled out for you.

I never get a flu shot and never get the flu. The last time I got the flu was back in 1999 at year's end. It was pretty bad that one time, but I can't recall being sick in my adult life. I did get a flu shot for the first time this year but it was because I already had a doctor appointment and was already there. My reasoning was I didn't want to think the covid might be the flu.

I'm happy that I got the covid vaccine. No longer have to feel like one is walking barefoot outside.

Whitmer is not forcing anyone to get the vaccine. If you don't want the vaccine then don't get it. There are folks who shouldn't get the vaccine. She is just laying the ground rules on lifting restrictions, and she might have to eat crow on this one. It is possible we will never get to 70% vaccination in MI. Are we going to have restrictions forever? On the other hand, we might get to 70% and still have raging covid then what?

Nobody is going to force anyone to get the vaccine except maybe employers and universities. What is more likely to happen will be to offer incentives to get the vaccine. West Virginia is already doing this. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-vaccine-west-virginia-pay-younger-residents/

Northern Michigan University is also looking at this.

Correct me if I am wrong...Vaccine is only 70% effective meaning even though you are vaccinated there is still a chance you can get it but less likely to die from it or be hospitalized and again 70% effective against something you have a 99% chance of surviving if you get it even if not vaccinated. Also "vaccinated" people can still carry and transmit it even though they may not have symptoms, just like the "un" vaccinated people. So in all reality being "vaccinated" is not 100% as everyone tries to play it out to be. I heard on news this morning that a farmers market just north of me reopened and they stated that only the people who are "vaccinated" are allowed to be outside and NOT wear a mask, NON "vaccinated" people still need to wear mask while outdoors and cannot handle vegetables, Ok ummmmm that makes no sense, being vaccinated you still carry, still transmit, so in all reality you are still a danger to others who have and have not been vaccinated, according to the fear mongers. "handling vegetables" ok so...are we sanitizing all the cash and coin we are exchanging too right? or are non vaccinated people only allowed to use debit/credit card payment. Im sorry but as this continues the way we are handling this just makes NO SENSE. And as far as these incentives go....keep rolling them out, I'll still take my 99% chance thank you. I had heard Illinois was looking at incentives like getting to the front of the line for concerts and other venues, including Six Flags. If they achieve that 75% or whatever it is for herd immunity can you imagine how that skip to the front of the line line would be. Im sorry im not buying into it and you are still not putting that crap into my body...NO THANKS!!

Yes, you are wrong. You are only telling half the story. Here is the rest of the story. I will agree that the J&J vaccine is only around 70% effective. The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are around 94% to 95% effective. I ask you why you omitted this? Sounds like you want to present the worst case possible for the vaccine.

As far as being fully vaccinated and still transmitting the virus, the jury is still out on this, but there is evidence that suggests fully vaccinated people do not transmit COVID-19. Again you are presenting the vaccine in the worst possible light.

Why did I omit? WHY??? because all we have done since this started was look at the DOOMSDAY...ARMAGEDDON scenario, follow the science they said and we only followed certain aspects of the science and swept under the rug the science that proved otherwise, while our country and its economy faltered the fear mongering continued, but take my first sentence away and start where it says "also" IT STILL MAKES NO SENSE!!! what so ever
