Looking for a new 2 up

I posted this in the tech talk forum but I think this may be a better place.I have been shopping for a new 2 up sled. I was looking at a Skidoo GT with the 550f but they do not make that anymore. I like the simplicity of the fan cooled sled, and I do not need as rocket ship. Anyone on here have a Lynx 2000 LT? Curious on anyone's thoughts that have ridden it. Also curious about gas mileage and top speed.

Not a doo guy but if the 600 or 900 ace is in a 2 upper that might be a good reliable sled with great fuel mileage for you. I think the 600 probly tops out at 65 and 900 85-90.

Yamaha Phaser/Venture 2 up is also a nice sled with a reliable gas and go 500 cc 4 stroke. Good ergos and luggage rack....75-80 mph top end.

I have just started looking. I have not really set a hard budget yet. I like the simplicity of the fan cooled sleds. I have found new 2015 lynx for $6000. I don't put a ton of miles on every year.

lynx ?...europe/canadia sled right?

I thought he was referring to the Euro Lynx as well but I see that Cat makes a 2-up Lynx.

I think I would go rent a 2 up Ski doo 600 ace and see how you like. Bet you can get a good deal on a rental this time of year. I am a Yamaha guy but think the Ski Doo would be a good reliable sled.

Anyone know anything about the cat Lynx 2000 lt 2 up?

IMO....don't get hung up on one particular sled. While the options you have in a fan cooled 2up are somewhat limited, you do have options to explore. Renting (already suggested) a sled or two is a great way to find out about a sled. Looking at a rental sled that's being sold is another way to save $$$.

If serious 2up rider doing big mile days spend some money keep wifey comfy. If riding 50 miles & done any thing will do. 2ups are purpose built sleds these days lots of creature comforts and heated seats. dfattack is a serious 2up guy & his wife is tuff as nails rode over 200 mile days with them at snappy speeds in a support role. dfattack has had 2 new Venture 2ups now looking into a loaded doo 2up for more comfortable ride. Maybe he will chime in if not drop him a PM he is shopping now.

Doesn't sound like a 200 mile/day kinda guy does he? He want's the simplicity of a fan cooled engine. Does that sound like a Venture?

Don't know... his choice right.... maybe wants to increase ability with better tech?... again don't know... as said low mile rider any 2up will do if wants to get serious higher tech may be correct....eitherway put him in touch with like minded rider evaluating 2up sleds too. He said didn't get much info with first posting so trying to help him hook him up with more info.

Read more than just the post title....he wants a fanner 2up and doesn't ride many miles. Putting dfattack and him in the same category is like putting me with Tucker Hibbert.

I know what I'm reading.....he wants a two up fanner....something simple.....doesn't put many miles on.

One guy wants a Chevy......the other guy wants a Caddy. And you think you're helping the guy that wants a Chevy by telling him to talk to the Caddy shopper?

In your mind I guess so........

I don't care about you either....just READ entire posts slowly and respond accordingly. YOU will save precious bandwidth. I know why you are the way you are and can only hope I don't get as bad.

I know I may be the only one in the world that likes the simplicity of the fanner, but has anyone had any experience with thecat lynx 2000lt? The price is attractive but I am curious to hear what people that have put miles on them think of them. I often ride 100 to 120 miles in a day but that is not with a passenger. Wife likes short trips. If anyone has riden one of these sleds please let me know what you think. I am open to any fan sled 2 up. I do understand that these are not power house sleds. I am curious on how fast they will go. Like my name is I do have a 2000 phazer and i love it.
