Looking for a new 2 up

Isnt the Lynx just a renamed T570? If so its super comfy. Ive had the Skidoo GT sport as well, another good choice. My kids liked the GT better as they liked the higher passenger seat so they could see better. I found the Cat warmer than the skidoo.
Pick your best deal, both sleds are good I dont think either will disappoint.

I know I may be the only one in the world that likes the simplicity of the fanner, but has anyone had any experience with thecat lynx 2000lt? The price is attractive but I am curious to hear what people that have put miles on them think of them.

The Twinspar chassis still rides and handles pretty darn good for the price. Even by today's standards. Acceleration on the 570 isn't too bad, but the fuel mileage and top speed aren't the best.

I think I would go rent a 2 up Ski doo 600 ace and see how you like. Bet you can get a good deal on a rental this time of year. I am a Yamaha guy but think the Ski Doo would be a good reliable sled.

Trackside will be selling the two up 600 ACE, I rented one once; it was decent up to 55 MPH and ran out of oomph. That is ok though if you do not want to go any faster. I liked it, the powerband/clutching made me feel like I was riding an ATV.

DO NOT BUY A FAN COOLED, YOU WILL REGRET IT; POOR RESALE, RELAIBILITY IN WARMER WEATHER, NOISY, POOR GAS MILEAGE, STINKY ETC.

the 570 is a pretty durable motor .the twin spar chassis is still the most comfortable sled I have owned or ridden .my wife had a 04z570 same motor. I still see it around and talk with the guy he had 4500mi on it last I saw it and had no real issues. tones of parted twin spar cats out there if u ever wanted to update shocks u could real cheep .

Just what the OP is looking for. SMH

groomerdriver:

WD posted just some random thoughts and mentioned how his buddy rides a venture that the OP might like it and you about ripped his head off.

then on your post # 11 you chide WD stating,,,, "does that sound like a venture"? Basically stating the last thing the OP is looking for is a Venture.

now I see your posting a reply to this VENTURE being sold and saying, "just what the OP was looking for".

Your stick is getting tired bro..

So what is it?? SMH??!?

I posted this in the tech talk forum but I think this may be a better place.I have been shopping for a new 2 up sled. I was looking at a Skidoo GT with the 550f but they do not make that anymore. I like the simplicity of the fan cooled sled, and I do not need as rocket ship. Anyone on here have a Lynx 2000 LT? Curious on anyone's thoughts that have ridden it. Also curious about gas mileage and top speed.

Phazer, As whitedust stated I have been looking into replacing my 2up. I currently have the 2013 Yamaha Venture GT which I am very happy with. It has the power steering and I think this option especially shines on 2ups. When i ride solo I am on the Yamaha Apex XTX and like the power steering on this sled too, but it's especially nice on the 2up. The only reason I'm interested in looking into a different 2up is for my wife. She would like a backrest that is a little higher and I think the heated seat would help her on really cold days. She happened to sit on a 2up at my local Doo dealer in Iron Mountain and she liked the seating position and seat width on the Doo. We test rode the LE version last Monday for about 10 miles. It was a new/sold sled that the owner had agreed to let us ride so i didn't want to put a lot of miles on it. I was impressed with the rear suspension and my wife liked the seating position for her. I have my Venture setup with snow-trackers (carbides) and honestly I like my Venture for cornering now a little better than the Doo, but to be fair the Doo hasn't had anything tuned to my liking so it's not really fair to compare. If I went with the Doo I would get the SE version since it has the newer skis and air ride shock as well as the heated seat.

I don't know what price range you are looking at but it appears based on the models you are looking for that maybe you are in the market for a mid-priced sled. The one I'm talking about isn't in the $6,000 range but I wanted to share with you my observations if it helps you. We make the best decisions when we know all of our options. The Doo sleds ride very nice...and I'm a Yamaha Guy. I've owned 2 Doos in the past and would have no problem buying another one. I may get the new Doo next year. If so, my Venture will be for sale...:)

Hope this helps in some way.

I don't care about you either....just READ entire posts slowly and respond accordingly. YOU will save precious bandwidth. I know why you are the way you are and can only hope I don't get as bad.

I'm tired of seeing this fued play out in almost every thread you are both involved in. I'm not going to take sides, but please quit hijacking threads with your bickering and take this off line. This is what turns people off on this site. We are all grown men, right? ENOUGH!

I'm following this thread to see what other than Polaris has out there for 2up. I have a 2008 Polaris IQ Cruiser 4stroke TURBO that the ACE suspension, the back seat can be removed and has a trunk for attachment. It was around 10 grand new. Very nice sled BUT the ACE just went out on it and it will cost over 600.00 to fix.It has around 5000 miles on it. It's still rideable, but no ACE. Also the tie rod just broke so that needs fixing. We don't put on a lot of miles. Hubby sold his 04XC which also had the ACE. Now we just have the one sled. Hubby doesn't want to go back to riding 2 sleds again but I miss having my own.:(
The more bells and whistles you have on a sled the more can go wrong. Is the ACE worth fixing? The shop more or less told us to "unload it"!!!! And yes this sled has all the power you'll ever need!!!!

I would look for a good price on a 900ace renegade and then buy the two up attachment seat and back rest for around $800. You can ride double or single and the 900 ace is a great motor if you are not looking to race around.

The seat can be switched out in minutes with the easy attachment system and when you are riding single you will have a nice sled to ride and put back your single seat.

Having put about 30 thousand miles over the years on two uppers I'd choose the best shock spring suspension package offered in your price range... The motor selection is really more a personal preference based on your knowledge of usage...

I had an 09 cat t570. The same as the lynx. Loved it. Comfy ride. Warm-- great wind protection, elec start reverse, additional flip down fiberglass rear torsion springs you put in place if carrying a passenger, steered great on stock skis and carbides.. only drawbacks were noise, 60 65 mph top speed and no hand warmers for rear pax..... but I really liked this sled. I also went on a long test drive with a,1 up ski doo ace mxz. Nice motor, very quiet, but top speed 65? . Had an 08 yamaha phazer, great engine, same as the smaller yamaha 2 up has. Test drove a phazer powered 2 up, nice ride, comfy. Like other guys have said test drive as many as u can. Renting one is the best idea, then decide. Maybe test drive a little fancier machine and you and the missus will be on the dam thing all winter!!! She'll probably want her own once you test drive one with rear heated seats and rear hand warmers. I don't regret my fan cooled cat t570, but dang, if it woulda had a little bigger quieter motor, and rear heat, I would have ridden more...
