Looking for a single place aluminum snowmobile trailer

you can also add ski guides to a gate ramp, add some backing material to screw them into and will make loading and unloading a LOT easier!
old bed liners will work well too and can be had cheap many times if you look, can cut strips off with a angle grinder and thin cut off wheel!

So on a 5 x 8 trailer with a rear gate (so you cant hang any of the sled out the back), if you have say 15" to 20" inches (depending on the sled) hanging over the front would that work or is that bring to much weight on the tongue?

Would backing in the sled work any better? I found the perfect trailer that would work for my needs, along with price, but it is 5 x 8. The front rail of the trailer can drop down which could give some added support to the ski overhang?

Thanks

I think only a 5x8 will work if you are gonna have a removable gate or ramps on the back. It will hang over a bit. An average 2 place open trailer is 10 feet long so you will need a 5x10 if you want a mesh gate to fold up. Other thing to do is get measurements on the interior of the trailer and draw it with chalk or tape on the garage floor. Easiest way to see if the sled fits.

a 5x8 MIGHT work due to the fact the skis might be able top be stuck out the front some or till close to the spindles/a arms
but will come down to how long a sled you have
and IF the trailer has room up front to allow ski's to stick out and NOT hit tow vehicle when turning!

a 5 x 10 would make life way easier
and honesty both trailer will; have same weight rating most times, due to many use same axle on all these smaller trailers!, accept maybe the really small one's

IF I was buying one of these trailers I would be MAKING sure it also has the upgraded larger tires, then small thin /skinny one's
have to be turning a REALLY fast when being towed at 70+ mph like so many do, and they get HOT and sticky!

and well, hot tires are more prone to damage and failures, speed makes heat, heat makes em stiicky, sticky grabs more crap and increases failure rates!
its NO fun changing a tire on a trailer road side

I clicked on the thread and the trailer ad is popping right up, I don’t understand why you’re not, maybe google Blain‘s Farm and Fleet and go that route

Crazy, I can not get any trailers to show up. Makes no sense.

Tractor Supply in Eagle River had 12 to 15 trailers out front ready to go yesterday of course you will need to dig them out but they are available.

It took me 4 months to find a single place used trailer. I already had a utility trailer and it sucked towing a sled with. The single place is awesome, you forget that it’s back there at 75mph. I wish I had bought it years ago.
