looking for atv trip suggestions in the U.P.or northwoods of Wi

hopefully someone can chime in and give me suggestions of some good trails, a cabin or place to stay where we can ride from the property etc.
I havent rode atvs up in the north ever and have a small group that wants that wants to early this summer/late spring
thanks for any help.

Come to White Pine, if its on a weekend i will guide your group around, show ya a great time. You can stay and ride out from the Konteka. Lots of trails and fun play spots. Western UP.

Both of the above fine establishments are right on a trail. There are many resorts and cabins from Bergland on up to Copper Harbor that are right on the trail. Take your pick! Try to get your hands on a MI-TRALE map to find allot of them. PM either me or mrsrunningbear and we will mail you one out.

I agree 100% so many great places each one having something to offer. The best thing is you never have to load up again from any of the trail side resorts you can connect to over 500 miles of trails.

I have some maps and would give you 1 also, depending on where you're from in Il. you could come and pick 1 up from me. They are the 1st printing of the maps so there's some trails and changes that aren't on there but would give you good info. anyway.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

We have a group with some ladies and I dont know if theyll want to ride the whole time so we want to make sure we are by some other attractions. Also looking for good trails with play areas if there is some. We have a couple sport quads that are gas hogs so it be nice to know where the gas stations are.
Im excited to have a atv trip up north! Do you think the trails will be open for memorial day weekend??

Trails will be open by Memorial Day. But just a forewarning:)there gonna be muddy! Opening date for all trails is May 15th but some spots hidden from the sun will still have snow on them i bet!

Keep us in mind the Wildlife Refuge Cabins, we to are on the trail and 5 miles from the "big" town of Houghton,which has a variety of shops, movie theater and restraunts. Your sure to have a great time no matter where you set your tires!

Bayfield County trails rock. Planning on being in IR May 8-12. LoveMyDobe- What are the chances the trails may not open on May 1st or even be open the following weekend?

I know a lot can happen in a couple of weeks, but it's not looking good.

I'd almost say 100% chance trails will not be open May 1st. Have over a foot of snow out there now, not looking real warm this week. Will post when they DO open.

Trail Closure update

This has been extended AGAIN to May 24th. Not set in stone yet as a for sure opening date.
