With my son's basketball schedule, getting away for an extended trip is limited until March. How is the riding in South Dakota Hills in March?

While I can't comment on S Dakota, don't overlook areas like gunflint trail / north shore area of MN. 25 years ago, planned our honeymoon for mid March in UP. The meltdown hit that week but we found great snow in this area.
