Looking for vacation ideas in Wisconsin and UP

I have a 2 week vacation comming up and I want to get some ideas for attractions in Wisconsin and the UP. I have 2 teenage kids, and want to travel the whole state. We will likely bring the camper, so any camping destinations would be apreciated also. I saw the other post about whitewater rafting. I think we will start with that. We have kayaks, and are thinking about checking out the porkupine mountains area of the UP also.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Call Linda at the Running Bear Resort. They have camping sites and would be a great place to visit, if not just stay there. She has a discount for John Dee members. I thinks called Full Price :)

The state park on Lake Gogebic has a very nice campground (or so I am told) rent a boat for the day and play on the lake, head up to the Porkies, go up the ski jump off of south boundary and make sure you hit the Hoop for sea salt wings on Saturday or Sunday.

If there's a nicer place to be in the upper Midwest than Copper Harbor, MI, I haven't seen it!

So far, it looks like we will be spending a good part of our vacation in the UP. I will check out Copper Harbor, the Sylvania Wilderness, and Pictured Rocks looks cool! I will also head to Mackinac Island for the first time in 20 years.
Thanks for the ideas!! Please keep them comming.

The waterfalls throughtout the U.P. are great! The ones around me are Bond Falls in Paulding just east of 45 on Bond Falls Rd and Agate Falls in Bruce Crossing which is east of Bruce on M28 these are the big ones there are other smaller ones off the beaten path too. The mine tours are cool also

This should give you a good idea of some of the parks across the Upper pen.

One of my favorites is: Muskallonge Lake State Park

North of Newberry.....if you want to be by the big lake this is a good one.

Also there is some NON-state parks that are great places too, for lower numbers of tourists....like the one on the little huron river by Erick Bridge near skanee, in Baraga County and in the same area on the big lake at the mouth of the little huron. Should be great for a pop-up....if not off the beat'n path abit. Certainly pretty country.

When in the St Ignace area and you got 2 teenagers tired of looking at trees and water, stop at the one and only Mystery Spot where gravity is defied as we know it. And you can send them down the Zip Lines to keep 'em interested and awake. Heck you and da wife can try a zip too.

The kids did the zip line for the first time this year when we were in Jamaica and they loved it! I loved it too, but there is no way I can get the wife to try it! Is it easy to find once we get there?

Hunt's Guide to Michigan's UPPER PENINSULA

The single best reference for travel in da UP: Hunt's Guide to Michigan's UPPER PENINSULA.

You'll learn far more there than we can tell ya.
Example: just click on the Waterfalls link on the left side of the home page. There are so many (well over 200 — some say 325+ in the UP), and they generally aren't heavily "promoted", so a lot of them are hard to find without such a reference, and many are hard to reach even with that info!
