Honda, but buy a bone stock one, right down to the tires, many have been 'moded' don't go there...Clean and adult owned you won't make a mistake and any used Honda 4x4 is worth more than other brands.

Depends on the usage.

IMO Honda is the best for reliability, but suck bad for faster type trail riding.

Polaris isn't as reliable as Honda, but much better suited for faster type riding.

I'd probably buy a Yamaha or Kawisaki for an all around atv.

Well I think the safe speed limit is probably around 35mph for an ATV on balloon tires..Honda clearly could produce a 200 mph version but thats not appropriate for this category..geez...the decision is what sort of suspension, transmission and drive line best fits your application...A Rubicon or Rincon offer different solutions and each are engineered A-Z to the max ..think Goldwing of ATV...You'll ponie up for one used but then again you'll sell it quicker and for more when that time comes..keep it all oem.

Many atvs come with radial tires nowadays.

According to MI. most fatalities are flips on pavement at high speed..this is due to suspension and mud tires, radial or not.

Face it, you can't expect to go 75 safe and go 2 through swamps..the tire limits you.

Hey man, I'm talking about trail riding, not mud bogging or asphalt racing.

I just stated my opinion that honda suspension sucks for faster type trail riding( faster than 20 mph). Sorry if I hurt your feelings. Not very many 4x4 atvs that go 75 mph.

On my second Yamaha (both Grizzly's), had a Honda (Forman) before that. I prefer the ride on the Yamaha and they are bullet proof. I used all three for hunting, working, trail riding and plowing snow. The Grizzly's ability to lock in all four wheels makes it quite the plowing machine. The Honda was a great machine, but much like the Can Am's I cannot justify the higher cost. If I wanted speed, 4 wheel drive (without the need to plow) and had a pocket full of cash I would get the Can-Am renegade a sick machine stock.

I'll maybe put a plow on it but otherwise it will be pulling my kids on sleds. some trail riding. Just keeping my eyes open for a good deal.

Honda also... I have two Formen never had to put a dime into them other the gas and oil. My need to get a set of tires on one before long. It gets used all the time for plowing. Both get used for work and trail riding. I like a transmission I control the gear its in. As said the formen is not a race atv but we put a lot of time on back roads and trails.

Honda spec tires are about 1/2 the weight of aftermarket..best place to buy is from e.bay ..some one who just took them off and downgraded into aftermarket overweight junk.

another little known fact on the Honda ATV, is that they all even today meet the original weight spec of under 650lbs. and by Honda spec will float and run thru waters of any depth.

We are planning to buy a pair this spring. We've looked at all the models and narrowed it down to Suzuki King Quad or Polaris 570. The Suzuki is looking pretty tough.
