Planning a trip in mid to late Feb . I was looking for somewhere different . Possible ideas , Manitowish waters , Presque Isle ,Boulder Junction , Land O' Lakes Watersmeet. Any info on where to stay and how trails are depending on the snow! 4 to 5 adult. Like to be able to head north or south depending on mood weather conditions. 3 night 2 day trip. Thanks
How is door county snowmobiling?
ac37, Ridin that area for 10 yrs . GREAT trails good gas ,food ,lodging. (stayed at private home off of Fence lake) Trails are good for off and on trail MEATHEAD

I would say try Stgermain but instead of staying in town stay at Fibbers on stgermain lake, nice location to ride from in all directions and I think you will like the place, clean reasonable priced lodgeing, nice bar and good food. They have a web site just goggle fibbers.Lots of other options also but personally I like this place and the setup.

From the area you mentioned, I would suggest the Great Northern in Mercer as your base. You can ride all day in any direction from there. Many good places to eat in the area. The motel has a bar/restaraunt. Has always been a favorite of mine.

The Great Northern is not a family friendly hotel its loud if you are on the same side of the bar. I just got back from there for 4 nights. Was woken each night by them playing music till almost 3 am. This is the bar playing it they will not get my $700 again there are plenty of better places to stay.

We like the St. Germain area, It seems close to everything, great trails, business's welcome sledders. And the place to stay is Estrolds resort!

I have rode around Gwinn. It is close to my home town of years ago; Ishpeming. Gwinn does have great trails and you can ride to different destinations from there. Marquette is north and further is Big Bay. Ishpeming is west and Munising east. However lodging is limited. There is a motel in Ishpeming that has a pool and shops and I think hot tubs. Bowling also there. If you are riding as a family this may be a better choice.I think it is called Country Inn? I also just stayed at a place called the Birches in Springstead Wi. they have a nice bar/lodge with game room. Good food and nice cabins and a small motel. Again great for families and Keith and Bonnie are great folks to rent from. Good luck and safe sledding!

thanks , ill be looking in to that.

A little added bounus to your trip would be going on the weekend of racing or other evnts like Cruiserfest in Minocqua............... Heres some details............... "Enjoy Friday nights’ spaghetti feed, snowmobile parade, bonfire and Smore’s! Breakfast starts the day on Saturday followed by radar runs, bikini races, vintage display, Cruiser Sale, brat & chili feed and demo rides offered by area snowmobile dealers.".................... Or radar runs in St. Germain... a link to it http://www.radarracers.com/
