The forecast is sure looking good as of this morning! It looks like the snow could be widespread too. :)

I agree. I like the sounds of the extended forecast as well. Especially seeing that I will be able to get out and ride the next several weekends.

Been doing this for quite some time and I don't ever remember as much opportunity for snow to fall in the NW 1/2 of the Midwest in a 10 day period. Opportunity is the key word as things can always change, but looks good and midday models stayed the course. Looks like some good March (at least early March) riding will be had this year!

Thanks for the update! So excited for some fresh snow and maybe the deepest base we've seen in a few years in the Keweenaw!

That's pretty exciting news from John... The neighbors say i have't seen a real winter here yet. ...Winter Storm Warning for the area now. Trails are nice.

Not sure where I'm putting all this snow if it hits as forecasted but the area lakes sure can use this moisture to bring lake levels up. Been snowing since about 4PM today just after I put my sled on the stand & covered after 125 mile jaunt. So todays snow is ongoing.:)

Headed to the UP this coming Saturday - Tuesday. All the snow forecasted has me worried. What If my snowmobile gets stuck? And the snow is spread out, so there won't be lots of traffic. Nobody will come by and get me unstuck. All this talk of smooth trails. What will I have to complain about?? So stressed about all these unforeseen circumstances. Maybe I should cancel all together. What does everybody think???

Hope that John is right for the Thursday-Friday snows this week! My local forcasters say the heavy snow missing NE WI. Keeping my fingers crossed that John is right since I have a 3 day weekend.

I'm heading up next Tuesday 2-26. Hope the patterns hold true. Bringing a buddy from PA up to ride. I'd like him to see it deep ;)

Oooops! I guess I jinxed us. What a difference a day makes. My area went from possibly more than 8" to much less. I guess it all depends on where you are, but all of the pink is gone from the maps today. Dang. Tomorrow is another day! ;)

Yep graphics always move around time will tell. Conditions in WI north woods excellent with or without new snow so we are good for awhile. Cold more important now & we are getting that. But we did get our new snow dose last night & today:)

It is dumping and blowing like crazy here by the Houghton County airport. Rode the sled to work and between the blowing snow and the snow on my headlights I could barely see a thing ;)

Same here! Blowing high wind snow. I look at this street light towards the west at night to really see the snow. When a system snow is here it snows from the southwest so kinda downhill and when it's lake effect it whips uphill from the north like mad! Non stop for a couple days or longer sometimes. Snowbanks on each side of the drive are at eye height with me.

Keep in mind that the 5-10 day forecast time frame is always moving. Meaning, just because the look of the 5-10 day map changed, does not always mean the forecast changed that much, it can mean that some of the snow that was in the 5-10 day period is now in the 1-4 day period. That is a lot of the reason for the pink disappearing, that and slightly less snow, mainly LES.

So there is not a considerable amount of less snow in today's 5-10 day period, probably 2-4", but 3-4" of it are now in the 1-4 day period (specifically day 4).
