M-10 Rear Suspensions

Get the M-10, adjust it for your weight, and you will be thrilled! Call Emerson-Stahl (Sled Salvage) at 218-624-2183, ask for an M-10 out of an early 2000's Polaris. You should be able to get one for roughly $500. Order a Yamaha mounting kit from FAST, & you are good to go. You will look forward to the "Sunday afternoon" stutter bumps, because now you'll be able to skim over the tops of them at 45-50 mph, in comfort.

I had a M-10 on my 97 Formula III. They are worth the money. They work great for little studder bumps, all the way up to the big moguls. I can't say how well they work off-trail, as I never had this sled in the deep. Just keep in mind, be patient with adjustments. Make one adjustmant at a time, and go ride. You will be amazed what a half-turn here and there can do. I am sure somebody can correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the M-10's in the Polaris skids built with cheaper parts(less adjustability) than the ones from FAST?

Also check out the AD Boivin ZX2 rear suspension. I have heard nothing but good things about it. Super durable, rides nice, no maintenance. Cheaper than a M-10 New

Well I can only go up to 2003 on a Polaris M-10 but my 01 and my buddies 03 are the same as Fast M-10 if I need parts I order them from Fast, Best thing to do is get the Adjustment Manual from Fast tells you everything

Depending on the application an M-10 will scrub off between 5-10 top end mph. THAT is why you don't see them on CC race sleds. If top end is not important to you an M-10 or even the new Airwave will be an improvement over stock as far as comfort. The 2011 Yami Apex will have Fox Floats all around. This is not the same as an air-bag suspension. I believe the Airwave has an on-board compressor to ad air if required. Floats don't have that capability. Yet.

I have an AIR WAVE suspention system in my sled an do not find the need to change air pressure, the only time would be if you change rider weight or riding style significantly. Such as riding two up, mogul jumping. Once you have found the right air pressure for you and your riding style no reason to change any more then you would with a regular spring set up. Besides I could not find a place to mount air gauge and switch with out cutting holes in my body work which I did not want to do. So I did not install the on board air compressor.

M-10

I had a 01 polaris 600 classic, a 03 polaris 750 Frontier 4stroke with the M10 and loved them. I then got a 06 polaris FST with the M10 that was not very good, so I put the Fast airwave shocks on and was still not impresed, maybe I could'nt adjust it right. I had high hi-fax ware problems on all sleds in front of the front bogie wheels. I was running the track loose but how loose can you run the track on a M10? I went back to an 03 Frontier and love it,18-20 mpg two qts oil a year,no top end speed but I still love it.

The best Polaris M-10s are 2001 through 2005. After that, Polaris used round tubing instead of square tubing for the swingarms.

I agree with that. I still like my M-10 on my 2006 FST Classic but pre 2006 were slightly better. I changed my first set of hyfax at 7,000 miles, and that was only because I was replacing the track. They didn't need replacing at all. I run my track per spec in the M-10 manual which is 1/2" to 3/4" of free hanging slack measured 16" ahead of the center of the rear idler wheel.

got a chance to ride Fast air ride this weekend on 270 mile ride! Alot better than m-10 for ride and ajustability! Blew rear wheel 210 m into the ride off a small jump! wheel looked like maybe chinese takeoff! hard to add 1200 on top of 11000 sled price! yamaha new air shocks ride pretty nice!
