M8 Tunnel Gas Tank

I'm planning a trip out west and I'd like to pick up a tank to mount on the back little "rack" thing on my tunnel. any thoughts on how big of one I can take with me?? Like a gallon or so?? What is the best brand??

I just ordered one of these. I got the dual 1.3 tanks. Looks good and the mounting rack is real clean looking!

I use a 2 gallon self venting tank/can I picked up at a hardware store. I use nylon straps that I got from www.strapworks.com to hold it on. Nothing fancy but it was cost effective. Hasn't failed me yet.

Don't know if it matters but I have a 2008 M8. The seat is the old style.

It doesn't matter if ya go with the Track Rack! Just take off your stock gas rack and install there's.

Do what Andy said. His works and he has his carry bag mounted behind the gas tank mount over (not blocking) his tail light.

Only pictures I have showing the tank on the sled. Not the best shots but you get the idea. Mine is an '08 and I use the stock rack on the tunnel.

Did ya find anything yet m8man? I just installed the Trackrack on my sled today. The tanks fit great on the rack system,Very clean looking,And no straps to mess with!

I used the Super America 4.99 gas can all last yr never fell off I think it is 2gal and only had to use it 2 times

Looks real nice! Not to poach the thread, but how do you like the new style Boss seat? Any weight savings from stock??

There's a big weight difference the stock seat and the boss.The only complaint I have in the new style are the crappy zippers.
