You're from Waushara, you know we don't have enough to open. Waupaca is closed & Marathon is only partially open. I wouldn't waste my time unless you're going to Lincoln or further.

Did you get any riding in back mid December in Waushara?

Ya, Hancock area. Had really bad cold that's been going around when they were open for those 3 days! Figures right. Finally they opened before Christmas... Ya I called DNR rep in Marathon Cty and he said open but minimal snow. I'm breaking a new XC850 Polaris so I won`t be going there. Just booked a Log Cabin East of Crandon on Hy 8. Armstrong Creek area Friend up there says Florence Trials are smooth and Fast I'll find out mid- next week.

Don't be fooled like I was and think anything below Hwy 64 isn't worth it. There's good riding to be had. Depending on what part of Marathon Co, you may want to think East. Obviously, it's not going to be as good as true Northwoods, but you don't have to trailer as far as one would think.

Wondering if you have ridden on them recently?? As I am breaking in my XC850 Polaris and don`t want overheating problems. Yes I have ice scraper.

Last weekend I was over by Eland and north. I don't have scratchers on my current sled (have on past ones.) Can't speak as to this moment, but didn't have any need for them last weekend.

Spent Saturday touching the East/Northeast border again and venturing further East/Southeast than last time. Shawano had opened up a few more areas than the last time. Snow was a little thin the further south/southeast, but doable w/out damaging equipment. Temp light never came on, but one section had it rising a little. Had a good time and the trails further north were really good. I'd venture to say they've been the best they've been in a few years, but maybe partially due to the grooming itself. Was able to make more of a loop w/out spending so much time on the rr grade too. Definitely were more sleds out, but traffic on the trails themselves was minimal. And we purposely didn't venture out until late morning to let the trails soften a bit.
