Wondering if anyone had any current trail conditions for Marquette area and east to St. Ignace/Mackinac Bridge. We are planning a ride there next week leaving from the St. Germain Wis. area. Also any trail sugestions to hit/avoid. Good stops, lodging recommendations etc. would be appreciated. Never have ridden east of Marquette. Would like to check out Big Spring and Tequamengon Falls....worth it?

Sorry can’t help with anything you asked but that is one heck of a ride, how many days are you taking?

we rode from Munising to Big Spring Friday. Trails were excellent once we got outside of Munising. Munising was down to 1 groomer. Big Spring is worth the stop, really neat place, you can go on the cable barge for free in the winter.

Dirty, by chance did you make a loop back to Munising after Big Spring? Did you ride trail 2 around the bottom side of Indian Lake and over the north side of Manistique at all? I'm headed up that way in about a week (17th-20th) and hoping to make it down to Big Spring and loop over and back up to Seney, would require taking 2 around Manistique. Wondering how the snow cover and base is the closer you get to Manistique area and north shore of Lake Michigan?

yes, From Munising we rode 41 to 2 on the east side of Indian Lake then back up to the west side to the Big Spring. 41 and 2 were fantastic. We then rode 7, 8, 14 to Big Bay, those were great as well. Saturday from Big bay, 14, 5, 18, Republic ( no gas in Repbulic, so you have to ride road south of town). 18 to 111 to Crystal Falls, we ended in Tipler/Iron Mountain area on Saturday, Sunday, from there to Lando Lakes via 2. 700 miles in all.
