That is some seriously nice terrain!

You do realize you're surrounded by a bunch of Polaris guys, although some would say 3 to 1 is a pretty fair match-up for a Cat. Still wondering how long it took to get out of the dead end.

So how did you like the Snowies compared to the Ears? Always wondered if they are pretty much the same?

Funny, I don't hear you crying about how "horrible" the wind was??

the wind on day 3 was horrid up top but we dropped down to around 9 k and headed in to the woods and it was all good but yeah up top 20foot visibility .
and the dead end eventually got to a drainage .I think the ears are closer to the modrays more or less the western range behind med bow.
all I can say is wow am I glad we took the extra 1.45 hrs and stayed on the western side in Ryan Park 1 drive over the top and I was convinced to never stay in centennial. more sleds than I have ever seen .but lucky 90% never leave sight of the trail.
and the kitty held her own once again never high marked and went any place the the triplets went in fact some of the poos left there sanitary napkins in the cabin and would not come with in the fun stuff.we had to stick to meadows and light trees for the most part for 1 guy in crew 1st timer and after day 1 of 6 stuck over 2.5 hrs to get him up on 1 small but bottomless hill I was fine with out having to go through that again.
trip was deff a every other day kind of thing blue bird 1 day and hard blowing cold snow the next.
back to the kitty I was hearing why dont u just buy a pro from all of the sheepel so I said ok hear is the deal if any of u can go higher of deeper or any place I cant we will drive to town and I will buy one . guess what come home with me my payed for 2011M8:)

2011 M8 and you still have the windshield? I'm impressed! I thought once you had to roll it over you left it off :)

no that one has not broken off. I think the dash bag keeps it from busting .believe me that thing has been rolled out of a hole more than I care to admit

i was thinking of you and what you said when i got in this predicament, sore ribs from the roll over, hurt elbow from a horse, went for a ride alone because it was too cold for the other old guys, took me 1 1/2 hours to get the back lifted up and turned around

Yup wind is always bad up top. Easy fix is just don't ride there. Suffer through it for 5 miles, then drop down a thousand feet and your back in business. I always thought about just staying in ryan park, but my last trip convinced me other wise. Going over I80 summit with a 30 ft loaded trailer on 2 wheels and a 8k pound truck getting blown sideways on dry pavement is no fun. I'd rather just deal with going over the top on the sled!

yeah it was bad on 80 I missed the exit to go south in to CO and back up so I said f it and went for it down right scary. other truck went south and they were 30 min behind us and got to the cabin at the same time as us.
not to mention not ez to get to the Saratoga hot springs after a day of abuse from the east.
they remodeled the springs so nice locker rooms showers 3 pools open 24/7 and free

well I am 45 and have no issues. I ride with guys in there late 50s who can out ride me.
as far as working out I would say u need to be some what in shape if u get winded taking a dump then it is a no go .
I tell guys who have never gone to at least work on cardio for a month or 2 min before heading out to 10k. they rarely listen u know joe u met him and his wife last winter in the bar. he dis not listen to my constant hounding to get that heart working and was spent early and then the mistakes happen then un really get your ars handed to u digging out at 11k feet.
worst part is the rest of your crew has to pay the price.
so I say jog ride the bike anything to get that heart in shape before heading up.
unless u like vomiting in your helmet yep I have seen it happen and it is hilarious and u never live it down ever

well if I buy the assault..i will start in the UP off trail either with somebody from here willing to take me, or with a guide..then at least I have some experience with the deep stuff..that looks like the real deal out there and being only trail so far..im definitely underqualified..but that sure is crazy crazy looking fun

In the same boat, want to get over there, but highly underqualified (and out of shape). At least we got modular helmets to get em open quick and (hopefully) avoid vomiting INSIDE the helmet. LOL! JR coming along is a must --- Strong, young kid with good lungs to dig out while we sit back and drink a beer. Sounds perfect, just watch out for falling snow.

well I assume at 11 it was 2 of us in the deep woods. we love that stuff just working our way to the bottom or a drainage or any other cool stuff 96% are not willing to look for. we followed a dent in the snow that had a few 8 ft deep craters with flowing water. that lead to a bigger drainage.
btw that days videos are marked wet foot day .I did not know I was standing in a creek eye level with my skid that was trenched 2 to 3 ft. but I found out it took about 20 sec for the water to work its way in to the top of the boot.
yep stock M ski I have tried the slp and sly dog and still like the stockers best on a old school M.
