Rode through there today. Wondered when the last groom was done on 17N. It was pretty much drifted shut at one point with big drifts and the whole strech we rode was like a washboard. ..

yes they are rideable but thin hard on carbides. hard to rate them. some good, some poor 17 north of mercer poor, 17 south of mercer was good when I was on it yesterday but I am sure an hour later it was bad 12 going towards flowage was bad but 10 going to flowage was very good. very hit and miss. snow like sugar. wont stay in place.

If you are staying in Mercer go ride north and you will be fine. Also looked good to the West but I did not ride that way, only from truck.

How are things in Mercer Area now? Planning a trip up on the 26th and kind of worried about the warm up this weekend

Just came back from that area yesterday. The snow is thin in spots but the trails were in pretty good conditions. You'll hit some rocks on the grade, see some icy corners and some snirt in areas but generally the grooming was very good. As usual, the further north and west was better.

Rode 17 from Minocqua to, and 8 out towards Manitowish.

The grade was as good as Ive encountered in many years honestly. The fewest rocks ive seen and no bare spots in the open areas. In fact it was so white in the mid day light, it was hard to get a good visual on the trail surface for a triple digit run. The section between Lazy Aces and town was choppy and thin, but that's a super high traffic area.

Trail passed Beaver Lodge over to the Shillelagh was great. Groomed and white. Wont take much of a warmup to kill the road routes though. Id keep checking after the warmup for conditions. The super cold weather protected them against the traffic last weekend, this weekend looks to be less friendly.

Any new updates on the trail conditions in the area surrounding Mercer? Going to be up a week from today for 4 days. Looks like the temps are favorable but no new snow in the forecast.

Just came back from 4 days in Mercer. Wed-Fri was great all flat trails and nice and hard. Only bad thing is Roads are thin and Swamp Creek was pretty rough. Sat was pretty good typical traffic started to take its toll. The grade from the Yukon was great starts to get a little thin going south, never even tried to go into town. Watch out for DNR/Cops as they are out in full force as they should as the trails are getting crazy out there. They are even on the flowage radaring at night, so keep it under 55 and you have nothing to worry about.
