After reading all these post and seeing all the negative affects i will be switching my exhaust this weekend . I to have small children and would like to enjoy this awsome sport with my kids some day !

Thanks Shift! I am hopeful boards like this and getting the word out can be a positive influence without being confrintational.

I was checked last year right by the Mosquito and received a $160 ticket, not only that but during testing the officers made me hold the brake and burn my belt and so the very next ride i blew my $180 dollar belt. The officers that tested me didn't seem to know a thing about sleds either as they asked if my "pipe" was aftermarket when the can is what is making the noise. Along with testing my sled about 6 times they also dropped the disciple meter they were testing. Now you think that would take the meter out of calibration that has to be very precise, but they said that it only has to be calibrated one a year and cannot come out of calibration if you drop it. I took this to court to fight the ticket and they denied having dropped the meter at all. Even with my witness that was with me during the testing that saw the officer drop the meter. They need to get some officers that know what they are doing out there.

How about if we turn this into a health issue?? everybody who thinks they need a 'can ' to lose that few pounds could go on a diet and excersize program prior to the snow season and lose weight ....no 'cans' needed....everybody's happy?!!!

Do we honestly think they will stop at 88 db's? I'm sure if all snowmobiles were at or below 88 you will still have the same problems. What is loud to some is not to others.

The important factor here is being in compliance within the law that is in place. I can guarantee you, we are not talking about 89db & someone raising an eyebrow. The fact of the matter is, loud is loud & that is what is causing the problems at hand right now.-Mezz
