Michigan Trail pass increase

I think it does get to the "one-timers" a bit. Hard to justify the cost for 3-5 days. Too bad they don't have a 7 day pass or something similar like some states do for fishing lic.

I get trying to say I only ride the UP for a day or two but let’s talk reality. The DNR pays millions of dollars each year to clubs for equipment and grooming costs etc. last year at the $52 if you rode 10 miles of groomed trail that burned up that $52. So in the case of the club I am part of the DNR gave us a new $400,000 tractor and a $38,000 drag then paid us $5.30 per mile that we groom so as stated you get a lot for $52. People don’t have a problem dropping a hundred dollar bill on a dinner that only satisfies your hinder for a few hours but wants to complain about a trail pass. There is a big post about this on doo talk also and look at the prices that they pay in Canada for trail passes or out on the east cost Michigan is still dirt cheap. Sorry if it sounds like a rant but just want people to see reality. No skin off my back if people don’t want to pay and ride Michigan that means less traffic for me to deal with while I’m riding.😁

Well worth the money Jim, even if for the day, your club trails were nothing short of perfect last year!

Well said Goofy and the last time there was a rate increase was? 5 years ago? Was there for two trips this past winter and no complaints, even on weekends. appreciate everyone's efforts!

That's how it was for us when we rode Ontario in the early 2000's. When I suggested that to some of the powers-that-be in MSA (now MISORVA) a number of years ago, they poo-pooed it as "too difficult". 🙄
