It's turned out to be a stellar year for northern Michigan grapes that will soon be picked and made into wine.
Some wineries have already started to harvest, while others are still a few days or weeks away.
The heat that started all the way back in the early spring made for an extra long and warm growing season.
"So far this year it's been one of the hottest years on record," says Brian Hosmer, Winemaker at Chateau Chantal on Old Mission Peninsula.
Hosmer and others compare this year to the 2005 season that ended with excellent quality grapes in both the red and white varieties.
9&10's Ryan Raiche and Photojournalist Jeremy Erickson have the story.
