Micro Cabin

I have seen a few small cabins built in the UP and 1 owner told me that if it is under so many square feet, they don't tax you for it. I can't remember what he said but I thought it was 190 sq. ft.? Does anyone know what the square footage is and is it true about not being taxed on it? I was thinking of building one for a guest cabin back in my woods. Thanks!

The place you need to check is with your Township officials and Township Assessor. This will save you a lot of grief by doing it right versus trying to circumvent local zoning and building codes.

Not wise to seek this type of advice on a snowmobile forum. May cost you a whole lot more in the long run.

Can't say for sure but if structures are considered temporary (no foundation) you can avoid permits
