Drove through the rain on Saturday to get to the south end of Mille Lacs Lake. Took a ride to the East on Sunday morning after we found out how to get to the trail. Just so used to riding in Northern WI. so we were quickly frustrated as far as trail marking and signing to businesses. Found some helpful info in Isle. Pretty much told us to plan a ride with a final destination being somewhere to eat and get a drink... Not used to this. Oh well. Took a ride around the lake yesterday. Found a couple nice places on the North end of the lake. First stop was The Joint. Very nice people and good food. Picked up some more maps and were on our way. Next stop was Harbour Inn for a nice view of the lake. Everyone there was very helpful too. Especially when told to stay off the lake if you don't know where you're going. One big ice heave developed right out front... Took the trail!!
Same conditions as Northern WI but at least there's still ridable snow here. Looks like we might get enough to make it a whole lot better out of the storm that's coming today.
