Trails conditions will change after today...and probably for the better...expecting 3-6 inches of snow there today...with another couple inches by the end of the week...should be really good riding in the northwoods by the end of the week.

Thanks!

Appreciate the report! Things look great at this point for early arrival tomorrow and departure on Monday. Have not rode this area for a few years due to lack of snow so pumped! Thanks again!

Thanks for the 411! I assume after yesterday and todays snow, things look much better?

Some corners Icy and thin but overall pretty good.

Rode yesterday everything was good in that area EXCEPT Boulder Junction was bad.

That seems to be the norm with Boulder Junction this year. Cannot figure the logic when all towns around them are grooming and they are not. Hopefully with this new dump they will get out there.

Last few years have seen that with BJ and Lake Tomahawk.

Any update on snow amount from yesterday and overall trail conditions outside of town? We're coming up tomorrow and looking to ride west and south of Minocqua thanks

Here's what is posted on the Forest Riders website:

Overall Conditions:

Our grooming operations began this past Thursday and all the operators are reporting that the trails are in Good to Very Good and sometimes Excellent condition. However, be aware of icy patches in the corners! The swamps are still showing some moisture. When you’re traveling on a swamp, stay in the middle of the trail where the ice is the thickest.

Areas of Concern:

These sections of trail run on roads and will have a layer of ice on them underneath the new snow cover. Please ride with caution: Corridor 10 between TIN-608 to TIN-610; Most of Trail 10A runs on snowmobile routes from TIN-601 to TIN-609; The Kennedy Fire Lane has been plowed on Corridor Trail 12 between TIN-676 and TIN-658.
A swamp on Kobart Trail D has opened up and is NOT passible by snowmobiles. There was also water reported on Corridor 12 in the swampy area between TIN-441 & TIN-667 by our groomer operator.

Grooming Schedule (beginning Tuesday, January 31st):

Tuesday: C10 West, Trail A, Trail 5 & 5A, Kobart Trail D (conditions permitting)
Wednesday: C10 East, Trail 9, Trail C, Trail D, Trail J, Trail P
Thursday: C10 West, Trail S, Trail 5 & 5A, C12 Southeast, Trail 7
Friday: C10 East, Trail BB, C12 Southwest, Trail 5 South, Trail W, Trail G
Saturday: C10 East, Trail 9, C10 West, Trail D, Trail 5 & 5A
Sunday: C12 Southeast, Trail 7
Monday: C10 East, Trail BB, C12 Southwest, Trail 5 South, Trail W, Trail G

Trails appearing in italics are groomed in the morning.
This schedule may be altered due to changing weather and trail conditions
