Missing John and his forecasts

This is the time of year when I miss John and his forecast most. I got a new sled and I like to start following the forecast for snowfall in the up. There are several people with similar type websites out there but none with the multiple day snow focused forecast that John had.

Hey Blade. How you doing? Remember I gave you the Nickname Blade!! Baldy tells me he reads all about your trips on facebook. I don't F.B. John was great and we are closing in on his 2yr Ann. of leaving us. I miss the guy also. Truly one of a kind. I will say a special prayer for the Dee family on Friday for sure.So what is the new sled? Still got any Blades lefts? Richmond will start working on trails this week.Think Snow!!

I've wanted to post something similar many times. Miss the journals too. I think how much his family and all his friends up there must miss him all the time.

Agree, the seasonal forecast was as eagerly awaited as winter itself and once it arrived, I'm sure there were untold numbers of sledders out there cheering for the pink every week. He not only gave us a forecast but also some in-depth explanations for why he was making the prediction.

John had a knack for reading the models & knowledge of the atmospheric conditions above & beyond most meteorologists. He was right more than he was wrong with his forecasts & I haven't seen or heard of anybody else currently in the field that can measure up to his level of expertise. He is definitely greatly missed. It's hard to believe that it will be 2 years since his passing tomorrow (Nov 14th). Peace & prayers to Nora & Grace.
