Looking at staying on fish lake reservoir northwest of Duluth this weekend thought they were going r o get the snow it looks like I thought wrong anyone rode around there or cotton or up towards Virginia or hoyt lakes or Yukon trail nsst to the trestle any info on this area would be great we should be able to cover some ground if the codiions are right but with the new snow wasn't sure how it'd be south like McGregor or moose lake even hinckley any info b eould be greatly appreciated

Drove the car to Virginia yesterday. It was ok in the straight stretches but the corners and stop signs looked dirty. Virginia and to the north did not get any snow yesterday. Trails are still just ok further north around Tower. The snow went south, maybe Moose Lake, McGregor or North Shore would be your best bet.

Put on 150 miles Saturday and Sunday around Beaver Bay, Silver Bay, Finland. Road crossings were starting to get sloppy, but there was plenty of snow elsewhere. State trail was consistently in the best condition. Tomahawk was great on sunday, but back down the Sawtooth was all moguls from start to finish. But... that was late in the afternoon on sunday. I'm sure it had seen a ton of traffic, and it wasn't anything a pass with the groomer wouldn't fix.

Rode the Moose Lake area last weekend. Kerrick down to Askov over to Rutledge up to Willow River and Sturgeon Lake. All good except for the road crossings and ditches. Woods, swamps, the Willard Munger RR trail all good. Even the big black spruce bog between Bruno and Banning State Park, usually without a ton of snow those swamps are like riding over a field of bowling balls. Haven't been back since Sunday noon, but I'd *assume* those trails still have a base, and now another 6+ inches.

Rode the northern half of the Yukon on Sunday, and it was still MINT.

Then rode from Isabella to Babbitt, and the northern half of the Tomahawk was pretty tore up. Lots of snow, but mogul city.

Trail into Babbitt was pretty good, but a few stretches were coming apart with the temps.

That was my brush with the north shore. I have a buddy riding from Virginia to Finland today, I can report back on what he finds.

Just got off the phone with my buddy, it’s paved highways - everything has been groomed and cleaned up - never hit a rock all the way from Virginia to Babbitt through the Knotted Pine to the Trestle down the State Trail into Finland and now circling back to Isabella.

Thanks for the update. Will be watching the temps and hoping we can still go somewhere next weekend. Can't get away this weekend. Gonna keep my fingers and skies crossed.

They rode from Finland up to Trail Center and back yesterday, 190 miles, and were sitting at West Branch in Finland before 5:00 - trails were PERFECT the whole way up and back, groomers running in both directions on the NSST.

Should be another good weekend up there, regardless of the temps.
