The Boondock Inn is hosting a vintage event February 27th through March 1st. The first two days are vintage riding days but there will be a vintage snowmobile show at the Mosquito inn on March 1st starting at 1:00 pm. If you happen to be in the area, stop in, grab some lunch and a beverage and check out the sleds!

what watering hole will you be hanging out at ? may need to look for you
I haven’t talked to DWZ yet so I don’t know his schedule but I will be booking into the Boondock Inn for the duration. A couple of big rides on Thursday & Friday (for vintage sleds anyway) but I’m sure we’ll be back in time for happy hour. I’ll be making my way over to the Mosquito on Saturday for the show and will most likely spend most of the day there. I should be easy to spot, even from a distance. I’ll be the one limping more than anyone else.

Pictures would be welcomed for those not in attendance.
You know me Gary, I photograph everything. Hopefully I’ll have some shots to post and if not, someone else may jump in with a few.

Took the 79 TX out for a spin this morning to check out new carbs/jetting. This will be the sled of choice for the "Iron Butt" ride and the ride on Friday. At -19, that free-air motor absolutely flies. This is going to be fun!

So, how do you choose which one when you get there? And I wish I had that decision to make!
Well Gary, when it comes to vintage sleds, it’s not much of a stretch to say “the one that I can get started.” It’s not always a given.

Oh how I long for my '79' TXL! However I do have my uncles '71' Poo 500 FA Triple.
A 71 triple is an awesome (and very hard to find) sled. You were wise to hold onto it. I do like the 79’s. I’ve been riding this particular 340 for over ten years. It never gets old.

wont 3 fit in your trailer?
I sold my 18 footer and they would have easily fit in that but this is only a 12 so it would take a lot of jockeying and even then I'm not sure it could be done. Would be nice to still have the 18 but couldn't justify two trailers. Maybe I need less sleds....never considered that option.

There’s always next year, think they’ll still be making creamy dark. I’ll have one ready.

The Boondock Inn/Mosquito Inn vintage weekend kicked off today with the “Iron Butt” ride, which ended up being just under 50 miles. About 50 sleds turned out for this ride with roughly 60% sporting leaf springs. The remainder were later model riders that just wanted to share the experience.

Awesome ride and Paul from the Boondock Inn did an amazing job as trail boss/guide. Remarkable thing was, 100% of the vintage sleds made it back under their own power. Not sure I’ve ever seen that happen.

Have to say, it was a real treat to finally meet Dan (dwz) from this site and no surprise, he is as nice a guy in person as I expected he would be.

A 40 mile trail ride to a lunch spot and back is the plan for tomorrow but for now, just a couple of shots from today.

Very nice. A lot of great looking sleds there. I wish I was coming up this weekend, looks like going to be a lot of nice sleds there. Once winter ends I start to look forward to sled roundup in St.Germain always some nice sleds there.

I saw a video on Facebook the other day showing everyone taking off from the bar. I'm sure that was you on the TX with a backpack!?
