I was online then and remember when it happened. Can't say I remember anything happening that made it memorable except for some reason I notice the stat and figured out I had been online at that time. Maybe someone else has a better memory than me and can shed some insight into what happened.

I could be wrong but I believe the most users ever online has set a new record each year. The John Dee empire continues to grow!

16,572 members... Makes you appreciate that John still keeps the site free unlike some of other the other sites that started charging a fee once they got a ton of members. Just think of the money he could be making off a $10/yr membership, but chooses to keep it this way. Thanks John!!!

I think about it a lot, but have absolutely no plans to go that way. I like the way it is now. Totally free for the viewers, businesses get exposure from the tons of visitors and I get some pay from the businesses. Pretty good business model I'd say.

By the way, the actual numbers of persons coming to the site dwarfs the persons coming to the board, or even signed up as members of the board. 16.5K board members, daily unique visitors to the site is 40-50K on an average day and 75K on a big day.

Prime time snowfall drives traffic for conditions. I was wondering how the site will hold up to the increase in membership a good problem to have.:)

John - I am willing to bet the ad revenue from google is decent. Because the ads are so relevant to things I like, I click click click.. :)

I am happy with how the adsense is working. Wish all ads could be on topic, but I guess everything can't be perfect.

May be 3 reasons.

1) First big snow

2) On a Monday

3) Everyone at work that afternoon

I think those are exactly why. Things were pretty slow in much of the Northwoods until that period last season. I think we need to go for 600+ this season!

No complaints here, Victora Secret ads are kinda nice :) I have actually ordered things from some of the ads and suspect others have too! (no not Victoria Secret)

I've been curious of how the snow fall affects (effects?) the site. My original thought was it would be a ghost town cuz everyone was out riding. So I want to know the traffic the day AFTER the snow fell? 25 unlucky members that were stuck @ work?
