Correct me if I am wrong, but last years Motorfist gear was not made from the e vent material? They didn't start talking about e vent until the release of this years Rekon jacket.

Cuzz I know you have researched the **** out of this, did the 2010 rekon jacket, now at $150, have the e vent material in it?

Where do you guys see $150? I suspect the e vent is just a name they patented to make the clothes sound more high tech and it is the same as last yr. If they did a complete material change in their second yr. that would be suicidal since the first yr. stuff has "life time" warrenty. Cuzz, help me if I am wrong. I noticed 2nd yr. bibs have more pockets. My bibs will be here in 3 working days (whatever that means).

It wasn't the same eVent material. I think it might have been somewhat similar but definitely not the same. I got a message from the guy I know who wore last years gear. He can't register on the forum for some reason but wanted me to share his thoughts.

Do not buy last years gear unless you trail ride exclusively. It's not durable enough for boondocking! My testing last year was some of what was behind the new shell. Outside of two little tears in shell I loved the gear, breathed much better!! That said it is new, I will give it a go in December in Wyoming! The new stuff is a fabric the Army tested with good results!

I'm looking forward to his review of the new gear. He rides hard and loves the trees. That is the perfect type of test for me. If he tells me it is good I'll be buying it next year. I almost did this year. I heard it breathes much better than the Klim stuff. I know the Klim Army will say it ain't so and impossible but if I'm wearing it next year I'd believe it.

Ha ha. He is lurking. Too bad he can't register. Anyone have any clue why?

His response to your comment Skylar...

Last years gear did not use event, was still more breathable than my new xcr goretex klim gear!

I emailed Motorfist....last year's gear is not e-vent. That makes sense because the reps at the show told me Polaris had the exclusive use of e-vent leading up to this year, and now Motorfist has it. The motorfist guy I spoke with used to work at Polaris, and was involved in Polaris switching to e-vent from gore-tex. That decision was made as a result of gore-tex's minimum order quantities, at least according to the motorfist guy. I am not sure why Motorfist now has e-vent but Polaris does not.

For me, it wasn't so much the logo as the "snowmobiling is not a crime" written on the jacket that I didn't like. I think that is just on last year's stuff though. Sorry, enough about that...
