Mtn Biking

My son and I started Mtn Biking last year and have really enjoyed it. We are lucky to live in the Duluth area with a great collection of trails. This weekend we rode the Brewer Park trails with some great overlooks of the city of Duluth and also the Mission Creek trails which are some phenomonal flow trails. Lots of climbing on both of them but its a lot of fun. Last night my son had two hilarious get offs, one he went off a boardwalk for about a 4' drop and the second he grabbed a handful of front brake and right over the front. Luckily no injuries resulted from either. Then later on the ride there was a doe and a fawn on the trail. The fawn just stepped to the side and laid down to hide so that was kind of neat.

The exercise part of it is correct! I tell my wife I enjoy it because blasting down the trails reminds me of snowmobiling but it's a lot more work. We've got a lot of long climbs on the trails around here with a lot of switchbacks built into them and its fun attacking the climbs as hard as you can and its a great feeling when you reach the top and then get to start coming back down.
Trying to get myself into good enough shape as we head to Breckenridge this summer for a week and I want to do some riding out there. Going to be a big difference at 9000'+. We are also going up to Copper Harbor in late July for a weekend. Looking forward to that.
