It blows my mind how you can talk to 3 separate people that just rode the same trail can tell you 3 complete different stories when it comes to trail conditions.
If you ask me the trail are incredible. Sure there might be a little dirt here and there. Some bare pavement going in to get gas. Its spring riding at its best.

I recorded some videos of the trails yesterday afternoon (3-30-2015) Let the videos do the talking......

Doe Lake Rd to Buckhorn on Trail 7 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdS8bS-p_-0

Trail 7 at Buckhorn to Trail 8 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnkwhDrkCP0

That's ONE LUCKY SQUIRREL at the 2:29 mark of Doe Lake Rd to the Buckhorn video!

Oh, and I think I might have seen a tiny bump on the trail at around the 4:30 mark. ;)

Those were the same incredible trails i rode last Monday - Thursday. Thanks for the videos, it brings a big smile to my face thinking about last week on my father, son trip. We stayed right at the Buck-horn. Three wonderful days of riding
with just my son on perfectly groomed trails. A perfect way to end our season !

Great videos and thanks for sharing them. Super smooth and ton's of snow. We've been riding that area since 1980.

added video showing the ride to get gas at Holiday

Today was the last day of grooming so don't expect smooth trails like this if you are coming up to ride trails. Plenty of fun still out in the woods.

I agree with snocrazy, trails in that area were great. We were in Grand Marais last night at 10 pm gasing up and left for the Beartrap to eat and had perfectly groomed trails the whole way. What a great 4 days to end the season. We stayed next to the Buckhorn and trail 7 and 8 were amazing. Seney area was also good and we even made it over to Paradise. Great to explore an area I haven't rode very much.

I had gotten "first hand reports" telling me that last weekend was gonna be sketchy and it was likely that the trails were gonna be junk. Soooooo glad I didnt listen, and headed up anyways. Probably the best 3 days of riding we have had all year. Well besides the fact that I blew my sled up for the second time this season. Thank goodness for a spare sled!

Looks like it's time to turn this thread into a brand bashing fiasco.......

Lol go ahead..I can handle it. There probably isn't much you can say that I didn't hear ALL weekend long. They told me if I wanted to ride the Turbo cat so bad, all I had to do was ask! I will say, it was one fun ride! Now what to buy next!?!?!?!

Thought I saw a corner ahead sign? Guess they are not completely banished.

Yes there are still quite a few out there....

Thanks for posting those videos, we were up riding the same areas a little over a week ago and I was sure they would still be good through the end of the month.
The funny thing is, come next December/January this site will be full of people chomping at the bit to get out and ride, can't blame them. But if they could just hold off on early rides and ride later, I think they would be very impressed with late March conditions. And this year is a bad example with the big warm up we had!
I put more miles on in March then the rest of the winter combined, temps are better, trails are great and we have the place pretty much to ourselves!

nope - trailer out to plains next couple of weekends. To cold out this weekend. Snow is concrete.
Still plenty of snow around here on logging roads and in the woods even when the trails turn to crap.
My trail sled is done for the year. But still have a ride so not the end yet. Spring riding is my favorite.
Still 18" to 2' on the ground. I would say the White Fawn Community Center web cam shows this accurately for the area.
5 more miles South of there and it drops off real quick.

People are still renting sleds and trail riding!!!. Group left Whitefawn today.
They rolled one out in Seney and it wont start. Rescue mission in progress.
