Looks great. My black truck is the last one I'll ever buy... always washing, clean in the driveway, dusty by the time i hit the highway!!! But when there clean there's nothing better than black. Good luck!! Looks like it matches your trailer well. What do you think of the "Ford" diesel ?

It does match the trailer. If you search there is a thread where I bought the trailer. I was told I would have to buy a matching tow vehicle. I didn't buy it. At the time I loved my Tundra. I still love my Tundra. But I didn't like 9 - 10 mpg towing.

So far I LOVE this truck. It's got an awesome balance between luxury and brawn. I am in no way a brand loyal guy. I buy whatever I feel best suits my needs. And in this case I seriously looked at the 2010 Ram 2500, 2011 Sierra 2500HD, and the F-250/350. They all had their pluses and minuses. But in the end it kept coming back to the Ford.

This is my first diesel but one thing that still amazes me is that on the 15 mile trip home from the dealer I got 20 mpg on a truck with 10 miles on it. My Tundra with 30,000 miles only got 18 -18 1/2 on it. When it was new it was around 17 on the highway. It's amazing because of how huge this truck is in comparison to the Toyota.

So far I am extremely happy with the deal I got and the truck I got. And FWIW I LOVE Sync. It blows away the Onstar in my wifes 09 Yukon.

Congrats on the new ride!!! My buddy just bought the same truck and I was very impressed. I have stayed away from Ford because of the Powerstroke issues. This one seems impressive in that it is quiet and showing great MPG for a new truck. He did notice an oil leak at 700 miles though. The truck went in today to see what is wrong and it will be interesting to see what they find. I have a 2009 Chevy 2500 crew/short 4x4 Duramax and I am thinking my next truck will be a Ford if the motors hold up over the next year. Did anyone say anything about the urea freezing?

Well as you know the issues were with the 6.0 and 6.4. Both of which were Navistar (International) engines. The 6.7 is different from the ground up. I was nervous about the same issues. But after doing about 6 months (yeah I can't spend more than $100 without knowing I am getting the best for my money. Drives the wife nuts sometimes) of research I am very confident with this engine. Plus more R&D has been done to this powertrain than any other in Fords history. Their entire reputation is hanging on this truck in light of the past 6 years. I am sure your friend will see that they are going to bend over backwards for him. There have been a couple people with leaky seals. Ford has replaced them no questions asked and problem solved.

Since you are driving a GM here is a link to my comparison of the 2. I REALLY wanted to get the Duramax after how much I have liked our Yukon XL.

yes, I was aware of the issues that a "diesel engine manufacturer" was having on the 6.0L and 6.4L. With this being Ford's diesel engine it will be interesting to see how it works out. I have been on about an 18 month rotation for new trucks and that will put me into next Summer. If the 2011 Scorpion holds up I will strongly consider the Ford. I had a 2000 F-250 crew/short 4x4 lariat 7.3L and I loved the interior size of the truck. That is the main drawback is the small back seat on the GM trucks. I am 6'4" and the person behind me does not have a lot of room which I guess is really not my problem...hahaha. Good write-up on the trucks too!

My buddy got his 2011 Ford back from the shop and they could not tell where the leak was coming from. They dyed the oil and he has to go back in 2 weeks.

I must admit I'm kind of jealous but happy for you. I don't tow much except for the sleds. I never checked my milage exactly on the " 150 stimulus truck " but it is not good just going by rough gallons in per miles driven. Maybe 12+ for a average. I kind of hope to see an increase when I get a couple grand on it.

Very nice looking truck. Black is the best if you can keep it immaculate, like said above .

By any chance it's " Black on Black on Black " ? doing any mods ( leveling lift ) ? Bed Cover ?
I also see you have the pull out mirrors.

I ended up trading the Tundra in. Got a sweet deal for it. I must say that it is 100% true that Toyota's hold their value.

I agree it was a sweet truck for the 2007 1/2 tons. However, I really didn't like the Tundra's transmission binding when turning in 4x4. Almost hit another car in the parking lot when I was pulling into a spot last winter and the steering wheel started binding really bad since the parking spot was clear of snow. (I know it's a common trait with 4x4 trucks but the Tundra is MUCH more pronounced than any other truck I have driven). Also I didn't care for the mileage when towing (9 1/2 - 10). Now to be fair it was identical to my buds 2009 F-150. So I wanted to try a diesel. Now had Toyota come out with their Cat powered Tundra I would have been very interested in that.

But as it is I am really liking this truck. Towing with it is AMAZING in comparison the Toyota. Not even comparable.
