I just picked it up yesterday. It's a 2009 Dragon 800 Switchback. Ran the VIN thru the dealer and all recall work has been done on it and it has the extended warranty thru 12-26-2012. Got it for a GREAT price. Now I just have to wait for some snow!!!

Cool!
I have 09 800 Dragon (non switchy) and I love it. I havent' had issues, but of course I keep hearing that they will come. I also got the extended factory warranty. I can tell you this- pay attention to the power. Is it boggy here or there? Etc. Per my dealer, there are a few computer flashes that Polaris has released. They are not necessarily a 'recall' by VIN number. So I was having some midrange bog issues, brought it in, and they flashed it to another program. Said if it was worse or didn't like it- bring it back and could try other- or set it back. At the end of the day- it rides great and I'm very happy with it. And like you- I got a great deal. I feel your anxiety- I purchased mine (I live in IL, bought in MI) in Sept and had to wait until our first trip to pick it up and ride it. The suspense was killing me. I hope you have a summer hobby to keep you occupied. OR- a few grass drags wouldn't hurt either. :)

OK, I'll be the first....
WHY DID YOU BUY SUCH A TROUBLESOME ENGINED SLED????
In 2 years my "new Poo every year" buyin neighbor has not been able to ride his without an issue in 5 trips up north....
And to think how proud he was the day he brought it over to impress me with it last year....LMAO....it is FAST though....LOL....for a while!

Best of Luck

I agree with snobuilder! I hope you got a REALLY good deal as you could not give me one of those 09' 800's. Of three trips this year with my buddies 09' 800 with all the recall work done and the latest motor flashing it ran good on ONE trip! The other two nothing but problems. Hopefully yours is not like his. Oh and if you want it to run like an 800 you better put the dynojet power commander in or it is a dog! Sorry to sounds so negative but just saying my 2cents.

Thanks all!

I expected to get some grief for buying this and I know what dangers lurk below but I took the plunge anyways. I did alot of research about the issues with this motor and this sled in particular. Yes I got a GREAT deal on it and know full well that this could backfire but, for what I paid, I really think it's worth the risk. I have 2 full seasons of warranty on it and, if it becomes one of the problem ones, I can dump it and chalk it up to experience and not lose much, if any, money.

With all that being said, I'm keeping an optimistic attitude about it and just hope that I got one of the good ones. Unfortunately, It looks like I have to wait awhile to find out.

I appreciate ALL of your opinions!

Oh Skylar- thanks for the idea! I totally know what I'm asking Santa for next year :) My dad is a big racer and his buddy actually owns his own dyno machine and they're always testing and whatnot. I think I'll put those 2 in charge of the research and they can relay what I need and where to get it- to santa for me.

Question- if you put that on, will it null my warranty? Like Dave, I have a 2yr warranty on it and kinda think I shouldn't do anything that will void that- just in case. Anyone know?
