Grand Lake, CO.

I have never ridden there, but know many that have and they all spoke very well of the trail system and beginner to moderate off trail.

I agree. Grand Lake is going to be the spot you are looking for. 2 hour drive from Denver, and a big trail system. Lots of rental companies up that way as well.

Snowy Range for sure. Went in March few years ago, dream of it ever since. Brought an 06 crossfire 6 and had a blast. We stayed on the CO WY border at wycolo lodge. Had access to lodging, gas, and like 300 miles of trail

Grand Lake area ,if its trail riding with some play areas your looking for. You can ride right from town or parking areas higher up if its late spring. Rabbit Ears Pass is also a blast.

If you are going to trail ride with a little off trail in the meadows. Check out Winter Park or Fraser. The polaris trail app shows both trail systems. I was a guide in Fraser for Trailblazers back in the day(1994-1997). You have east and west mountain ridges to ride. The Moffat tunnel road up to Rollins pass is the continental divide trail. Short drive from Denver. The best rental sled prices as mention before in other threads is http://www.extremerentalsinc.com/ just west of denver. They provide free trailer with 2 sled rental. Grand Lake can be a tourist trap. Good area to ride, but if looking for a quick get away to trail ride from work in Denver. Winter/Fraser is what I recommend.

Start the cardio now!!! Altitude is going to kick your butt. At least it did mine. Had to call a timeout after we tugged on my buddies sled. Worst part --- It wasn't even stuck that bad. LOL!

We got cheap flights out to Denver over Thanksgiving on Frontier. Went skiing at Breck to take our minds off of snowmobiling. Right now flights from MSP to Denver non stop RT are around $144 to $184 throughout the winter. We may change our out west plans from MT/WY to Colorado. Seeing how we leave our truck trailer out west and fly back and forth.

LOL ezra! Yeah, nothing to do here but watch the little snow we have melt. :( Trips with the guys are always fun. From packing and getting ready to hitting the road, the first one of the year gets the juices going again. It never gets old.

You were also able to get some more good seat time on the new sled. :)

Have a West trip same dates which is looking pretty real. Would love to tear up the UP with you again, but that long track keeps pulling me in the other direction. LOL! Sounds like you'll have someone to ride with, so should be a good time (never a problem for you!). If the snow ever shows, we'll have to hook up for another Hamburg adventure if nothing else. CO in March sounds awesome, hopefully you can get some riding in!!!!

Go up to Rabbit Ears Pass if you want to trailer and ride. That's where a lot of big boys go to ride. And 40 north of there is Steamboat Lake. Steamboat has a dealership and there are rentals up in Steamboat lake. Awesome trails and a dozen parks to go ride in. Open meadows, hills, trees, good stuff. Lodge up there to eat and stay in.
