Need Ideas

My wife and I normally celebrate our anniversary snowmobiling in mid march if weather allows. This year she is worried that it might not happen, but she is thinking positive.
We our celebrating our 10 year anniversary and if we cant go snowmobiling "weather permitting" we would still like to go somewhere.
Any ideas for a 3-5 day getaway within a few hours from Chicago area. Thanks

It may be a bit farther than you posted,....
But Niagara Falls would be fantastic 3 to 5
day getaway!
Especially if you are starting from the Chicago area.
Just as beautiful in the winter time as in the summer.
and since it is a "special" 10th year anniversary,.....
Well worth the 535 miles.

A crappy day of riding is better than a good day at work.

if you go to the U.P. and the trails r shot you could always end up riding logging roads or at least riding somewhere versus wisconsin.

come up to the U.P. anyway......stay in a nice cabin all the rates are great now..... if you can't ride(but I'm sure you could find somewhere) theres waterfalls to hike into (Bond and Kakabika), a ride to superior with a picnic lunch (even if you eat it in the truck). Good museums, national forest visitor center....oh I could go on..and on.

We planned our trip this weekend near a ski lodge. After riding sleds in the woods its off to the lounge and maybe hit the slopes in the evening. Go up I say!!!

Thought of going to the UP anyways snow or no snow. But just thought if we don't go we will just find something closer to home and something new or different.

Big Vin good idea but have to run that by her first.

Indy 95% of our riding is done in the UP. That thought is already planted in our heads.

Ok well we're from IL so I'll say Galena... it was a favorite...can find nice cabins or B&B's, great shops, restaurants, breweries and site seeing
