Need my fix

I knew this day would come.....when I needed a few huffs of glorious 2-stroke exhaust I'd go out and fire up the sleds for a few minutes. Now they're gone, with two 4-strokers in their place and no matter how many times I fire them up the result just isn't the same. Can't even use the weed wacker or blower as substitutes since they're winterized and put away. The snow blower...well, I never even put gas in it last year and am not going to until I'm assured that I'll get to use it. Oh, woe is me.............

Hey Russ,
Glad to hear you've got the 1200's in house. They sound pretty darn nice idling don't they? You'll love the ride even more, sadly without the smoke and fumes. But the good news is that you'll still get a whiff everytime you pass or follow a 2 Stroke on the trail.

Funny thing you should mention the sound, Gary. I like it a lot, but I see to be in the minority on DooTalk. They think it sounds like a tractor. I guess it does, but maybe that's what I like about it -- I'm a city boy so I find the sound of a tractor rather cool!

Well to each his own. I follow the same thread on Doo Talk and it seems a few of guys tear the exhaust off and clamp on some Bad A$$ pipe. I recall reading that in development that BRP paid particular attention to the performance and tone of the 1200's exhaust. You're going to love your new ride, let us know how you feel after your first time out.

Nope, no pipes for for me. I don't plan on changing anything about it (except the clutch, if it proves to be as troublesome as the predecessors that everybody complains about).

Two thumbs up on the Chesney reference!

I'm holding out on the clutch change though,...
500 bones is a lot of dough.
Would like to ride/hear/feel the new ones first.
Happy Sledding!

Gary: Hopefull the Wed/Thur outlook holds true!
If we get a winter this year,....trail is right outside the front door!
We'll have to hook up locally!

Even though we have 4 strokes, every spring I fog them until they choke out. That way the next fall I get that smoke a flow-en through the trailer and get my fix of fumes . This fall I got tingly feeling in my head and even lips as I let them warm up for the first time

Definitely going to try it first. Any change (won't be coming this year or probably not even next)....hopefully none is necessary!

Neat trick....I'll have to remember that in the spring. Don't want to fog them now, though, the only snow they've seen is the dusting in the parking lot at Timberline when I drove them onto the trailer!

Tried again, no joy.....somehow I'll have to wean myself from the 2s addiction and switch it to the exhaust note.
