Looking at a Ski Doo 2017 MXZ TNT 900 Ace with approximately 3,000 miles on it, needs a battery but want to know what the current value of it would be to buy it from a private party. if anyone has any ideas please advise. Thanks!

900 ACE sleds hold their value very, very well. If it's in good shape, well cared for, and you can get it for 7K, better grab it. 3K miles on a 4 stroker is nothing. If a dealer had it you wouldn't get it for that.

2nd season on my MXZ TNT 900 Ace that I bought with really low miles, it was a few years old. Awesome sled all the way around. Took a couple rides to adjust to the 4 stroke engine braking and throttle, definite keeper.

I was able to buy this sled for $7k, it has 2500 miles on it. Very happy with the deal.
My wife was even happy so that makes it better! Question? I'm sure there is a 2-up seat extension that you can buy for this model, does anyone know the best place to start looking for it?

Thanks for all your help.

Doo Talk parts for sale? Craig's Lists, or perhaps Attack Man can help you out on info for the 2-up seat? He would maybe know if you would need to change to higher rate rear springs also? Such as for a quality ride when riding 2-up? Remember, "Happy wife, happy life"!

If the used market doesn't offer anything, Google the Ski Doo Store. Their parts section breaks things all the way down to the rivets and washers.
Enjoy it, I think you're going to like everything about this machine.

I have the 2-up seat. You actually buy a second longer seat with a raised section (the single seat removes in 2 seconds with a plastic tab) and the backrest fits and locks into the LINQ mount. Significant improvement over the old 1+1 seat. Well worth the extra $$ if you need to take the wife or a second rider periodically.

One other thing to add, the original owner of my sled changed out the rear springs and put on stiffer ones (he gave me the originals) and it makes a big difference when you have a 2nd person on. My old sled was a bit of a low rider with the 1+1 seat and a passenger on it. I don't notice any handling diff when riding it solo.

Good info, thanks!

I bought a brand new 2015 skidoo Ace 900 in January 2016 through my local dealer, paid 7995+ tax, by far the best sled I’ve ever owned, I wasn’t real crazy about the yellow color but this one is black and it looks beautiful, very quiet when going through the trails at low speeds, it’s so quiet that you hear the snow hitting the front skis which I’ve never heard before, excellent gas mileage, no two-stroke stink, you can’t go wrong with these sleds there a little under powered at 90 hp but for my age (mid 60’s) it keeps me out of trouble

Absolutely, and totally agree! And with a little clutching you can make it into the very most enjoyable ride you've ever had. Much improved performance, and without sacrificing MPG's! Runs great on any gas. Bought the 14 Rene new for my wife, and was afraid I had made a horrendous mistake, however turned out the absolute opposite! I've used this sled on many long, big mile trips. And it's the "perfect" ride for big mile, long Canadian wilderness trips.

Kind of curious what kind of clutching work you did old Abe, mine is pretty much all stock, the maximum speed I’ve gotten out of it was 90 miles an hour but generally it’s in the low 80s, I know they have a Cudney clutch kit for this

Got a PB-80 primary clutch calibrated for the 900, not a Cudney clutch, or kit. Put in a Dalton secondary spring, set at 21#, and played around removing some pucks in PB 80. Hit the hammer, and up to 7900, pulls back to 76, 7500. It just gets to where you're going a lot quicker. Ran many days WOT for long periods, never a issue! +/- 20 mpg no matter how hard you ride it. Have thought about trying the PB 80 spring used for the old 1200 Doo? Some guy's used there 1200 PB 80, along with removing pucks. I haave encountered absolutely no "heat/belt issues with the PB 80, none! And so easy to work with is the big bonus. As I still have my original Doo clutch set up with Goodwin goodies, springs, weights also.

I will enjoy the 4 stroke and decent gas mileage. I typically run premium, non-ethanol in my sleds. I was running an older 2 stroke Polaris Classic 600 that was a gas hog!!!! My buddy had the same sled I just bought (Skidoo 900 ACE) and everytime we would fill up he took half of what I put in my tank. I dont need anymore than 90hp as I am 65 and don't ride like I stole it anymore, those days are over. Just like a nice 180-200 mile ride when we go with the guys, home by dark, don't drink any alcoholic beverages until we are withing a few miles from the cabin.

The absolute most enjoyable traits of this sled is, the smooth, and super quiet ride! Nothing but enjoyment! You'll ride all day and not want to quit! Something else, being a 2017 it has the revised Doo clutch parts in it. Springs could be an issue?
