If I put my sled under my homeowners policy they wanted $1170 for my new 2010 sled. Yes i typed that correct and I asked if she had a decimal wrong. Her response was well that snowmobile is a very high powered machine!!!!! HAHA
Needless to say I put it under my dads policy for $202 which was through the same insurance company just different broker (different state).

This is a great thread with good information. I definitely think I can save a few bucks by calling Jim Kelly. Thank you for all the helpful input.

Jake.

I carry collision on all 3 for Dec thru March, then I carry " comp " for the rest of the year. I have abused insurance coverage when I was younger. Even was kicked out of State Farm at the time. I will admit to being a little wiser now and only carry it for " catastrophic events ". The sleds will cost 3 times their purchase price if you buy them piece by piece from the dealers. Thus making a damaged machine easily "totaled". That's why I have insurance, just incase. At least I can pick up another machine should my age & ego " clash " out on the trail. Also, insurance is a plus if someone steals your machine.
