Like Indy says lower the price people will not pay 5000 dollars for a 15 year old truck with rust and 187000 miles on it put it at 3200 and a spanish speaking person will buy it.
You got the last part of your post right, I had to have a translator!
You must have never bought a new truck before. They don't just throw around extra warranties like candy. Why don't you just trade the rusty truck in on the new one? They will probably give you 3000 and you can just walk away from it without the hassel and I do mean HASSEL , of selling your truck. You ain't never going to get 5000 for it anyways. And aftermarket crap on a 15 year old rusty truck does not add any value to it whatsoever no matter how you think it might.
Let me tell you there is no better feeling than driving off the lot in a shiny new truck and leaving your headache with the dealer.
I did not get 5,000, I repriced it at 4,990, with lots of calls and actually people stopping at two different location seeing it and calling back to come drive it. I have a family friend that still lives in a "changing neighborhood", lots of lookers no cash. I then put it at another friends house, on a main road in my neighborhood and caller #2 was the winner! $4,500 and its a done deal!
On another note out of the guys that did come and see it, all knew about the rust, but they all had a "friend" that had a shop, so they were not worried about it. Plus all said that had seen a few with less rust, but most of this age had lots more rust. The guy the bought it, said he would be fixing the rust soon.
fusion900ryder~ Your close to right about a new vehicle. I have always known the salesman manager. So I was just told the lowest price up front and he knew I did not want the warranties, different dealer this time. As far as the dealer buying my truck, they had no room to work it in the price. The Ford I look a would have but the truck was so much more it was not a savings. I bought my RAM on a special fleet program, and this was well under employee pricing, so I lost all incentives from RAM. You can see
Pictures here.
