New sled help

Hey everyone,
I am looking at upgrading sleds next year and could use some help. I thought I had my mind made up 2011 ski doo renegade 600 or 800 but I have noticed that there are some real good deals on non current or used Yamaha Nytro xtx's. Does anyone know anything about the Nytro xtx. Is it as much of a tank that some people say? Does it handle good on the trail? I know there is a major difference in weight but I am real interested in the idea of a 4 stroke. Any help would be great

Check the current threads on 2 stroke vs. 4-stroke and the thread yamaha people. Alot of heated comparisons there. I think the xtx's are the best in nytro world from what I have read.

Do yourself a favor and try a 1200 Doo 4 stroke before you buy something , I have 6600 miles on mine and I believe it is the best sled ski-doo has ever built , just try it

I would test ride all the sleds on my list if I could find a place that had anything to ride. All the yamaha dealers I called with in 200 miles of my place didn't have any demos. I have road the polaris and skidoo I like but want to try a yamaha before I pick something.

if looking in to a gade you must plan on some boondocking so in what world do you go from a gade to a fr heavy trail sled.decide on what you realy want out of a sled then start shoping

I thought the nytro xtx was a crossover that was in the same category as the renegade. I know I want a crossover because I go trail riding as well as off trail riding. I would love to hear from someone who owns a nytro xtx and rides on and off trail.

Thanks whitedust but both of those places are 6-7 hours from my location

I have ridden the Nytro XTX & it does float well on powder for a 4s but also bridges bumps on rough trail with 144 tipped up track. If you ride more powder then lite 2s would always be better. Off trail is were 2s shine & weight matters.
