New trailer

I like the ideas here. The ski guides make sense. We also just changed the hyfax on a couple of sleds. Time to put all the junk sitting in the corner to good use.

The 'Caliber' stuff looks pretty good too. I like the idea with the drain slots. Seems like the trailer is full of snow and ice all Winter. No need to keep the wood under the guides wet any longer than needed.

Thanks for the inqueries on the trailer. It has been sold.

Hoping to set up the new rig for some good haulin. May even look at throwing some heat into the thing next season. It is being delivered with 5/16 wood panel liners on the walls with nothing on the ceiling. We figure it is cheaper to thow some insulation ourselves and then install heat. Not looking for anything fancy on the heat. Last trip riding was through lots of open springs and fresh snow. That combination added a ton of ice to the sleds. We broke off ice every morning and shoveled it out the doors.

How well has it worked with the heated trailers?

Call a place that does spray foam insulation and see how much they will charge you to spray it. Then you don't have to mess with it.

I used old hyfax instead of the wood strips, plus that way you can color coridinate with your sled, orange for my gade!!!

Finally got some pics of our trailer done and ready to go for the winter. Trailer is a United 18'+5' V-nose, 7' wide. We are using the 8" wide EZ Slides on the back door and interior of the trailer and the old style deep glides on the front door both vertically and horizontally. All of the baskets, toolbox and spare tire are Rubbermade tracking.

northmnsledder, thanks for the pics. I do like the idea of using the ski guides on the door. Nice and simple. Do the ski guides work in the nose of the trailer? I saw a couple of different curved guide system that also seemed pretty slick. The old trailer just had a straight piece of angled steel. That did not work. Skis would slide sideways, hit the steel and pop right over most of the time. We did not have guides on the floor.

I threw some scrap wood and tubing together for this storage rack. Still waiting for the trailer, so the cats are using it as entertainment.
