Has anyone tried the square bars with 6 inch carbide by stud boy?
Also how do they compare to the Woody's round bars with 6 inch carbide?

I run studboy 9 inch shaper bars on my apex no studs in track --the square one's !! I love them !! when i was running round bars they seemed to skid--skip more in the corners verses the stud boy shaper bars they are more positive around the corner anywhere you point them they will try to go !! my buddie runs 6 inch on his vector and loves them verses the round bars also !! as for darting the way we have our sleds set up they still dart though . the double shaper bars me myself will not use to much drag on sled alot of steel to be bolting under a ski ... Just my opinion !!

Has anyone tried the new Slim Jim Doolys for the pilot skis? Just wondering as I need to replace my carbides and wondered if they were any good?

I just ran through a set of shaper bars, but did not have any trouble turning. I had ground the carbide down to level with the bottom of the host shaper bar and the entire length was forming a sharp corner just how it is supposed to. I got good life out of them (~2K miles which was last year and the start of this year). However, they were a *^&%($ to get off which makes me believe the comment about bending. I was finally able to get enough liquid wrench and hit them hard enough to get them loose under the ski, but then had to hack-saw them off. I did replace them with another set. I use 6" Shaper Bars on my 600 Sabercat. I love them, but I have taken additional measures to make sure they come off easier next time. Once these wear out, I may try the triple points, but still up for grabs as far as I am concerned.

I've bought a set of the 6inch slim jims but have yet to install on my new Apex. Just waiting for more snow then I'll switch. I've heard they are as good or a bit better than the woody's duallies, I should know soon as that is what I've run on past 3 or 4 sleds. Well, as soon as we get more snow..

I ran the 6 in. slim jim duallys last year. absolutly no darting you can let go of bars and sled will stay straight. Best pair of carbides i have owned except for the $65 a piece for one side. Has any one tried just running a dually on one side?

etzkorn13, Yes, I am making funny looking tracks in the snow, dually on the left ski, single on the right, both 6 in. Been running 6 in. Woody duallies, but sliding through slippery corners. So, had singles laying around shop, decided to try it. Ran duallies to eliminate darting, which they did fine. After 250 mi. of trail riding in UP and in Wi., darts alittle, but seems to steer better through the corners. Still in trial mode.

The triple point look good but is it too much bite? Also what about major trailer damage when loading?

I think I will try the Stud Boy 6 inch carbide square bars.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Bergstoms Triples with shims & ski savers are the best. No darting & last forever. Very high quaility carbide used & that is why they last so long. My triples don't cut into trailer multiglides at all. $200 for 8 inchers maybe a little high for some but last many miles & worth it for me. I tried all the brands over many years & now will only buy Bergstoms Triples Points. You should try a pair I'm sure you will like them.

Wow what a difference put on a new pair of square stud boy carbides, almost flipped the dragon not used to the great turning and bite from great carbides, big difference from the standard 6 inch reg carbides.
