NFL Draft next week!

Many that do know him said Fox seemed very surprised...but who knows what goes on behind closed doors??? lol. Glennon sure seemed cold cocked but really not his place to question a draft choice but would have been easier for him in private than a public PR appearance when it went down....imo. I still don't know how Fox will work all this out??? All the QBs need reps and Glennon will start the first 8 games or until this season is a lost cause then Trubisky will play unless he is not ready and would be abused. I do not think the Bears will win many games this year will have top 10 picks next year as well. This is a throwing league and I hoped at least the Bears had a shot a Zay Jones a big WR to replace Alshon. Pace has been focussed on TEs...what is up with that? Sure they need a couple good ones but loaded with TE bodies now.

Looks like pace is trying to build a similar offense to the one in NO when they were competing for SBs. They had brees, ingram, sproles and jimmy graham. Trubisky, howard, cohen, and the TE is paces vision of that i guess.

Not that its a big deal, but Ingram, Sproles, and Graham were not on the Saints SB team. Ingram and Graham weren't even in the NFL yet.

Yep...that offense was one of the most potent for years even after their SB run and if they had a competent Defense probably woulda got another....

Here is FINALLY a positive take on pace and its actually someone who knows that the **** they are talking about....someone who has built a SB winning team and is a HOF front office exec.....bill polian....

Bill:“I thought it was a stroke of genius. The Bears kept quiet. The Browns told the world they were going to take (Myles) Garrett and trade back up for Trubisky assuming no one else would do it.

The Bears kept quiet. They talked with San Francisco, they made a deal and BOOM they took him at the very spot that Cleveland could have had they made a deal with San Francisco and assured themselves of both guys.

I thought it was just tremendous of Ryan Pace. Great move, great organizational move, great disciplines in terms of keeping things quiet and staying out of the press. A lesson for the Cleveland Browns.

Bottom line: great, great move. That’s what general managers get paid to do. That’s draft management at its best.”

“He has the most ability of anybody that came out in the draft this year. The most natural ability. The most natural thrower. He’s a good athlete. Probably a superior athlete. He can use his feet to get out of trouble and do things in the pocket. He’s a pretty accurate thrower.

Glennon was never going to be the long term solution. He should just take this opportunity and try to show what he has for the next team he ends up on. There is enough stats on him already and he has no better of a shot at the HOF than I do. The only reason they paid him all that money is that there are simply very few starting NFL qbs laying around. Not much to pick from. I am sure there is a master plan. Whether the plan works out or not only time will tell.

never ends well when the GM is buying the groceries but not telling the head coach what's for dinner.

All joking aside your guys heads are in the sand if you think fox wasnt aware of who they possibly could be taking.

Time will tell very soon if Pace is a Fox guy. Schedule wise unless the Bears are very much improved could be 0-6...this is a Pace team now full of FAs and draftees. This team will have to be good to have a 500 record in first 6 games. If a slow start who takes the blame?...I'm thinking Fox gets hung with that although a Pace selected team.

Fox is obviously a pace guy. he hired him. time will tell what happens after this year. how does trubisky and a young team overall develop around fox and how do they play even if they are losing.

Adam Schefter on ESPN radio putting some context to the Bears trade. Kudos to Ryan Pace. "Other teams wanted to move up to 2."

Im glad pace got his guy no matter what it cost. only regret moving forward for him would of been missing out on trubisky.

Seems to be agreement with most Mitch Trubisky had the best skills at this time of the QB 2017 bunch but to me a limted sample for Trubisky. Now which QB will step out and be Dak Prescott win some games light up the NFL? IDK.. 2017 Bears need to play better or will be 3-13 again...imo. Sooooo many 1 year contracts of FAs I just don't know how much player improvement or how the players will jell? Preseason might tell us something at least about Glennon but will Shaw even get a chance? Lots of QB competition but the best guy needs to play if it's Trubisky so be it start him get game experience.

I don't like using Dak Prescott for comparison, he came into the league on a team loaded with talent....the Bears literally have a team loaded with no names that most people have to look up to see who is on the field. Put a mediocre QB behind the leagues best offensive line, good receivers and a good running back...you better be good. Trub will struggle cause the Bears just aren't a good team. Who is he going to throw to...and I know he wont play this year. This current BEars team will win what 5 games, 6 at best. non contenders again, they got a lot of bad press this year again, like usual, and keep your expectations low.
As far as moving up to #2, that can be debated. A lot of teams "chat" about what they are going to do to get better trades or picks. We really wont know about this draft for 3 years or so, verdict is out.

pretty much summed it up.
don't really matter what Trubisky does they have no D line, no DB's, a bunch of #3 & 4 WR's and I don't even know who their tight end is anymore. Solid at RB. They're prolly one of the two least talented teams in the league top to bottom.
Even Andrew Luck can't win when you surround him with garbage.

Got to agree 2017 Bears team maybe better than 2016 but still not good. Prolly 3-13 again and why I thought QB draft could wait til 18 with more QB draft talent. IDK will have to wait to see if worth watching or not. The QB round robin was better than I thought last year.

Talking heads started on Fox already he won't have much of a chance to win with Glennon and Trubisky needs 2-3 year contract extension to work with Trubisky. Many see it same way as me... Glennon loses with crummy team so Fox tees up Trubisky for the rest of season week 8-10 or so. I have no idea how Glennon will play or keep a positive attiude when he knows he is NOT the QB of the future. Only hope for Glennon is to win right away but I don't think he can carry an inferior team to a string of Ws.
