I've been in the market for land for a few years and love the low key atmosphere of the UP, the snowfall and hills. So I've taken to looking for acreage (30-40+) in the Western UP. I'm trying to keep the drive time down to less than 7 hours from SEMN to get to the land, and i'm amazed of the small towns that i have never heard of, or forget about driving though.
One of them is Nisula. Anyone been through there or know much about it? Does the LES still reach there or does it get in the banana belt close to l'anse? I can actually get a good feel for the area by google street view, but i'm looking for that hidden info. You know, the "planned nuke power plant or haven for child molester" type areas.
